2012 Bears in the Pears Video
Flatlander replied to JACK's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Just watched the video for like the 3rd time. I never noticed that one bear witting in the top of the tree. Pretty funny. -
PM Sent. Good luck, let us know how he does.
-
Joe I thought you were supposed to be eating bear chilli?
-
If I recall correctly (which, I am SURE of), it was a ASU fan who originally came up with that 'idea'... Oh boy, guess the WIldcat fans are looking for anything to talk about other than football. After yesterday I would say those ASU wins over Cal and Utah are looking even better.
-
Jim - Awesome work on the velvet, that looks excellent.
-
Ammon is a great spot, my in-laws live there. I went to school in Rexburg, actually I am interviewing for a job there this month. My wife's family are all ASU fans up there. The south fork is killer in the fall, enjoy it. What are you doing for elk?
-
I used to live right between the South Fork and the Henry's Fork. Miss being 10 min from 3 blue ribbon streams.

Guess I should have clarified - West end of Roosevelt
-
Great buck. I just bought my first point for WY antelope. Hope to head out in a few years.
-
Congrats on a good bull in a tough unit. Those 'warrior bulls are awesome'.
-
Just a reminder that today is the deadline for purchasing NR preference points in WY. The cost is $30, no license required. here is the link. https://gf.state.wy.us/elsapplication/ELSWelcome.aspx

I really like the southern end of the unit. Up North is pretty thick and if you are in the pines glassing is pretty limited. You might give some of the country to the West of Roosevelt lake a try.
-
Awesome bulls. Congrats.
-
I would say that's a pretty good bear. When I checked mine in this year the biologist said that none of the bears have had much fat on them, so you aren't going to see the walking 55 gallon drums we have seen some other years. Looking at these pics the snout appears short, the ears look far apart and his legs don't look all that long and he does look like he has a bit of a belly. Put him on the ground and let us know for sure.

How is the rut in this area right now? I was on Robert's Mesa last weekend and got them going pretty good. It was a blast with the kids and wife.
-
Great bull in a really tough unit. Congrats.

Does the foreman need a new seat or is that just the pic? -
Wow great job. Cleaning those things out can be a nasty chore.
-
Stud bull! Looks like TLO is tearing it up.

Man, tough crowd. Sounds like maybe it was tough to pick up on the sarcasm in my tone. I have nothing against baiting, although I personally do not employ the method, and I am aware that there are plenty of deer left in 24b. John - If you haven't been told by now, find a canyon and glass, you will find deer. The north side of the unit gets A LOT less pressure than the south side. If you were looking for a unit where you can get remote in a hurry, congratulations, you found it. Good luck on your hunt, hopefully you end up with some pics to share!
-
That must have been before baiting became so popular, all the deer have now been lured into 23 and shot over piles of corn.
-
Unreal. Congratulations on all the hard work paying off.
-
There aren't any deer in 24b.
-
Thats a stud desert buck! Congrats on scoring big in a unit with far fewer big bucks.

Back to 200 this morning. Dang football season and terrible snack foods that go with it.
