Yeah, but seems like some of the guide outfitter crews are using them for locating. Again, tough to regulate use of this stuff in the context of “take”
-
Out of staters are only 10% of the problem but contribute 50% of the money. We need every resident to stop applying his wife, mother, dog and hair dresser. Getting rid of the rule averaging bonus points for party apps would be a solid first step.

I knew the border patrol guys were using them. Guess I hadn’t thought about it going beyond that. But heck those BP guys are just like everyone else. Good eggs and bad eggs. Some of them operate well outside of game laws (or legal boundaries). I guess I need to think about how mainstream this stuff has become.

I have seen the spotlighting efforts before, and didn’t really care much as it’s a point in time observation. But using night vision to locate and monitor and animal through the night is probably even easier than glassing them up in the daylight. I have been against the camera ban. But it’s getting ridiculous. Maybe the commissioners are right.

Can you kill sows and cubs now???
Flatlander replied to AZLance's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
I actually saw a guy one time who had trees a sow with two cubs. He was trying to roundup three people with bear tags so they could kill the two Cubs and then the sow so it would be legal. People are sick. I’m sure something like this is the reason for the change. -
That cat’s as vicious as any ol’ Tom Lion!
-
.57 / round actually seems pretty reasonable at the moment for quality ammo
-
I am glad I checked this out because it was a lot of cool stuff about your lion. But I voted for the kid with the dead head and the two point. What are you going to do with $100?
-
Which model leupold?
-
If you can meet at cabelas or somewhere E Valley I will take it.
-
He didn’t say $1 / round. He said 1 dollar around. So around a dollar obo. I’d start with .60 if I was even interested in steel cased junk.
-
I’m more concerned with the complete lack of pre-winter moisture and the resultant non-existent browse. Who knows what kind of shape the animals are in right now.

That’s an East Valley kitchen if I ever saw one!

Looking at new rangefinders and trying to figure out what’s best? The Gunwerk’s seem to be out of favor for some reason. Don’t see many of them anymore. Sig - Anyone have insight into which models have battery issues? Also, it appears the 2400 is only available in BDX. If I’m not planning to use the Sig scopes is there a lower cost option without the bdx? Any drawback to using the bdx without the Bluetooth features? Anything else people are using that they really like?

Because he decided to come on here and tried to make his buddy out to be a victim of the big evil guide service. Since he decided to make his hunt a public discourse I wanted to know if he lobbed an arrow from 93 yds because he got excited about a giant buck. Because if I watched someone lob an arrow from an obscene distance and whack a deer in the arse I wouldn’t be inclined to help him recover it either. So go ahead and spare me the sh it happens line. We all know that.
-
I didn’t assume anything. I asked how far the shot was. Big deer make people make bad decisions.
-
Have any ammo for this?
-
Lance had a fair point. Apparently this shot was beyond his capabilities. Heaven knows I have been there. But since his buddies decided to come on here and put the world on blast for not helping him recover a buck that he didn’t kill. I thought it fair to ask more about the circumstances of the wounding. He opened that box.
-
Who is ragging on him?
-
I would guess those deer will still be where they were in the end of November. But beware, you won’t be alone. There will be plenty of others out there looking.
-
So how far was the shot that wounded the deer in the arse?
-
How about... killed.
-
Not sure you can call it “finishing off” when’s buck escaped and survived for 3 days and is shown on video with no visible wounds.
