Seemed to work for the people who felt they were seeing too many trail cameras.

I have never seen that information published. But the department has it, no doubt. I suspect they would require a FOIA request (as they always seem to insist on for even simple requests).

My main concern is that this may lead to a similar adjustment for residents in the future. However, the current guidelines call for otc opportunity wherever possible. Which is in our favor.

Per the hunt guidelines if more than 20% of the total annual harvest comes during archery the unit transitions to a draw unit. Because there is no cap on the number of OTC non-permits sold to non-residents, that means that a flood of successful non-residents can push a unit to a draw for archery. I believe we should be petitioning the commission to adjust the guidelines regarding NR archery deer permits. I would advocate a cap on the total number available for purchase, which could lead to problematic situations for a first come first serve buying scenario. Or requiring NR’s to apply for archery. But either way, my recommendation is that NR be required to choose between applying for a rifle hunt / building points and hunting the archery hunt.

Anyone by any chance have a mule deer cape from a 3 year oldish buck, preferably from a northern area? Too many bullet he’s and ticks on our current one.

Tony, this isnt really a fair representation. I have no idea of those figures for other countries are correct but in the US the federal government has paid Billions of dollars i relief funding beyond just the direct payments. The direct payments are the smallest portion when you consider the the research and vaccine funding, increased relief products / supplies, funding for testing, PPP loans, unemployment benefits etc. I am not a federal government defender, but there is a lot that has been invested toward combatting COVID.

Back before there were 12,000 homes in Prescott Valley. Chino Valley is next. Habitat fragmentation, loss of access, predators and WAY too many tags has made AZ the equivalent of Idaho for pronghorn.

Anyone have a Vortex Ranger 1800? Are they better than the previous Rangers?

Finally someone saying it like it is. Newberg hits the nail on the head in public lands and 2A issues in this podcast. I couldn’t agree more about hunters as voters giving republicans a pass on conservation issues because they support the 2A. It pisses me off that these two things are viewed as mutually exclusive. It’s time the Andy Biggs of the world are held accountable to ALL their constituents expectations. Same with Sinema. She ran on a moderate platform, she needs to represent AZ’s strong 2A commitment. https://hunttalk.libsyn.com/ep-149-politics-of-guns-public-lands-with-hal-herring

HUGE W / T Buck Spotted!
Flatlander replied to Ace High Benny's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
However this got resurrected, it was cool to see some dialogue about coues deer habitat and behavior. Really cool to see some of the old names here, especially Bill (RIP). In the spirit of bringing a contribution to the table I can say I saw a very nice coues buck in the Tortolita’s probably 6 years ago this January. If I remember correctly he was rutting a whitetail doe. So maybe that population is fully established now. -
6.5 Urgent need of Hornandy 6.5 Ammo for hunt
Flatlander replied to Team STO's topic in Classified Ads
The best part of this whole thing is that this dude is out shooting deer and pigs. Meanwhile all you dudes are busy measuring peckers on the internet and trying to one up each other with who can claim the most obscure 6.5 cartridge.- 99 replies

How did I not even know this place existed?

Have you ever been to SLC? Skiing within 25 minutes, world class resorts, a legit international airport, Sundance, Park City, a stadium set at the base of the wasatch front, a ravenous fan base and the plastic surgery capital of the country, not to mention Wittingham was local. Sorry but the only thing SLC and Tucson have in common is the number of Rose Bowls they have been too.
-
Someone certainly would. If you go that route let me know.

One of my kid’s also shoots 7-08 so I grabbed 3 boxes of 139 gn Hornady SST. If you run short let me know.
-
I might be able to run over there today. If I do and they are still supplied I could grab you something. Any specific type you are looking for?

Last night my BIL and I were fretting about UA stealing AP and him raiding our staff and recruiting pipeline. Today we saw this. We ok.

This is such a badass thread. Major props to you guys for sticking it out and pulling out an awesome sheep. In today’s world where everyone obsesses over score and hunting that has become so commercialized with everyone hiring team so-and-so to “make the most of their tag” it’s is awesome to see some dude’s just lace up, figure it out and get it done. Way to figure it out and stick with it. Major props dude.

Guys, how long is it going to take for everyone to realize that NoBull = BC777 = BLOWENS? Its all the same dude and he is a textbook narcissist. He can't be in the spotlight with legit hunting stories because he is revoked for the next decade and can't ever guide again so in order to feed his ego he comes to this site and trolls. He is obsessed with making others look bad in order to justify in his own mind that he isn't a failure. He can't stop measuring himself against other people, especially people who are actually successful at something. No need to feed his ego. He can talk all the smack he wants but he can't go hunting. Why give him the satisfaction of engaging in his futile ramblings? Go ahead BLOWENS, proceed to make fun of my family. Heck, my handicapped son is an easy target, even you could probably come up with something clever to say about him. But it won't fill that dark ugly hole in your soul that you try to fill with poached animals and lame insults and vain irrational comparisons. Nope. You'll still be irrelevant no matter what you say. You'll still wonder why your daddy didn't love you, or why your uncle loved you so much. So take your best shot. I won't be looking.
