Bill passed and all we got is basically a $200 NFA coupon. Which wasn’t the main problem to begin with. How lame . Wickedly huge blown opportunity to put it mildly. GOA and others already filing law suits.

I know that we all want the HPA to pass, but I have to say that cramming a bunch of crap into big bloated bills that have nothing to do with the subject at hand is one of the biggest problems in Washington. And I hate it when the libs abuse it just because they can.

The HPA didn’t have anything to do with budget reconciliation, so it will have to stand on its own two feet.

We don’t like the government in anything else, but we like them owning the land? Why is my question

There are a bunch of things I like the government being responsible for: military, food and drug regulation, health care standards and governance, roads and highways etc. Things that serve the public interest and require wide scale standards and consistency that private industry wouldn’t necessarily serve because they are non-profit bearing.

I put public lands in the same boat. Selling them off for a one-time payment would be far too tempting for private industry or even state governments that are required to balance budgets.

The federal resources especially budget and treasury are important when it comes to to owning and managing public lands. Think of the liability of fighting wildfires. No state could afford to simply say we are going to put every resource necessary at this and write the check at the end. It would bankrupt any state or private entity.

The fact that federal public lands are managed for multiple use, including profit generating activities like mining, grazing and forest extraction means that it benefits users of all types. Private ownership would never manage for multiple use by various components of society.

This land grab has been going on for over a decade and it still wont stop.

Now since everyone contacted their democrat Senators, they are taking credit for it and will definitely be using that on the campaign trail for midterms even though they were voting no on the BBB.

It’s true. And I love it. These Republican candidates can go on the record as pro public lands during their campaign or face the wrath of public land owners.

New to the forum so I’ll start by saying hello to the members, lots of great info being discussed out there.  New to hunting coues bucks and my son drew a unit 31 tag for October. Going over some areas, sounds like the wilderness is where I need to be. Any info on the unit and where to potentially start would be greatly appreciated.

Man there are coues all over that unit. From desert floor to pines. Nice thing is on the youth tag you should have a lot less competition. Just glass hard. If you’ve hunted the Mexico and Old Mexico it’s probably not any different. There is a lot of country that isn’t designated wilderness that is still plenty remote. Good luck and have fun. My personal favorite coues unit.

Some of you really know how to kick a man while he is down even after a public apology! Thanks!

As far as the 31-32 question, one of the tag holders drew with 21 points. Congrats to him and anyone else that drew a sheep tag.

    Jeff

Yeah, that would suck. Like I said, I have been paranoid this was what happened the two times we got charges. NR deer needs to be $301.

Also, when you are done licking your wounds, you'll probably get a good laugh out of this.

I'm not sure what this has to do with classifieds, but as long as a political issue is in play, I'd rather have some more of the vast Federal lands in Arizona in private hands than have another future president turn the rest of it into wilderness areas and National Monuments. Thats a perspective of one who has hunted in Arizona since 1961.

But honestly, I hope the mods move this to the Campfire forum or Political Discussons forum.

You’d rather someone build a condo, golf course or data center than for you your kids or grandkids to be able to go backpacking?

    I guess that’s an opinion.

Looks like all three tags for unit 41 West have now been accounted for - and all are CWT members.  Kinda cool.  See you out there when it gets a bit cooler.

I know it sucks, but I would suggest getting out there in July with a lot of water. That is the rut and you will see the most rams that time and sort of get an inventory of what is there. Then hopefully you will know what you are looking for.

Usually a few hours with tag number in before the result posts right?

Something like that. Seems like they start populating midday and full results by end of day that it starts.

Waiting for someone to say they can’t access their account. Usually that’s a dead giveaway that something is happening.
