2013 archery velvet coues deer
Willyhunts2 replied to couesdeerhntr's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Awesome buck! What is that 3 years in a row on the august hunt for you? Way to get it done. -
What a buck! Huge congrats!!
-
Good looking bear. Congrats to your son.

Kind of off topic but does anyone notice leupold glass in their range finders being really dark in low light conditions. I had the rx something or other and just bought the vortex and it's night and day literally. I know the leupold I had wasn't their high end stuff but for the same price it isn't even close.
-
Sounds like a good problem to have though haha.
-
Nice buck! Huge congrats!!!!

Opener of bear in unit 1 I saw some bulls running together but also saw a good 6x6 running with 10 cows and bugling a little bit. If it's anything like last year all the lucky tag holders will be in for a treat.

Love the different color Mohawk down the back. Nice bear and congrats.

Looks like it will make most theiving scum move on. Good job and like the panning/tilt feature! Do you know how much it weighs?

+1 about not being able to +1 your own comment. Haha that got me laughing a bit.

Cool pics. Is that blue thing a 55 gallon drum cut in half? Is it water or salt?
-
That's sucks! Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago in 6b. I forgot one of the locks to lock up the front cover. Get there 3 weeks later and the sd card was gone but he was nice enough to close the cover and latch it. Scum bags!!!!

Just got home from unit 1 no bears but did leave with more mosquito bites than I've ever had. Didn't sound like the hunters runnin dogs had much luck where we were hunting either.
-
I've had my muzzy for a few years now and shoot it every time we go out to shoot the rifles. I've heard that while hunting you shoot it at end of day and reload next morning from a few people. I don't understand that at all. So my question is, is that really true?

I have a tikka t3 light in 25-06 that I love. Shoot the whinchester ballistic tip 115 grain and that's enough for deer. Have never shot a pig with it but you could switch to a lighter grain bullet. It is a smooth gun and love the action. Being as light as it is, it actually packs a bit of a punch. As said before shop around and shoulder all the ones you are concidering and that will narrow it down a bit.

I will be in 1 also. Saw a few bears during the turkey hunt which means I will see nothing on the bear hunt haha. Good luck to all!
-
Got mine Saturday. Took forever for check to clear though. Last year we got our leftover turkey tags in the mail and the check cleared 2 weeks later.
-
I thought black bears were considered thin skinned? I've never shot one so I don't know for sure.
-
Nice pics. Looks like you guys had an awesome day.
-
Those are nice looking bulls and love the pics of the cubs.

He will be an interesting one for sure.

Vortex all the way! I have never had a problem returning back to zero. Their prices are on the rise though. They know they can compete
