I start this rumor every year... Funny that it has made its way around so quickly this year...

Not so much that PRDTR... It's not really even about getting to a spot first for many of us. We all know there is a ton of public land to set up on. It's just that your big stupid redneck trailer and all your quads and trash sitting in the woods for several weeks on end off the main roads is super annoying. In some units it is literally one large abandoned camp after another for miles and miles on forest roads for several weeks before season and on into and after the hunts. If it is so easy to find a camp site as you say.... then why do you have to set up a month in advance? Well said Critter! I not going to STFU! I will be the one calling the forest service and demanding that they enforce this rule when I see other hunters breaking the rule?..

AGFD news Warning to Arizona hunters and recreationists camping on the Coconino, Kaibab and Prescott National Forests
AZLance replied to AGFD News's topic in News from Arizona Game and Fish Dept.
It says in the FS regulations that if you are going to do this, to call ahead of time and leave a vehicle description and contact information and they will issue you a permit. -
AGFD news Warning to Arizona hunters and recreationists camping on the Coconino, Kaibab and Prescott National Forests
AZLance replied to AGFD News's topic in News from Arizona Game and Fish Dept.
This is great news! About time the Forest Service listens to the hunters who complained about the trailers being parked for weeks in advance of a hunt. I guess the G&F commission supports parking a trailer in a camping spot for weeks in advance to reserve a camp spot... Sad! -
Turkeys everywhere in 35b....

Game and fish came and looked at the first one, but couldn't determine cause of death. He did say that is was a 3 year old boar. My other question is there is a ton of fresh bear sign all around, why are they not feeding on these carcasses? I know they do that, because they ate half of my bear I killed in there 2 years ago.

Lots of bears in the area... Maybe 20+ bears on camera. No visible wounds, but I didn't get real close because it stunk so bad.

34A Coues Hunt Nov. 29-Dec 7
AZLance replied to longbowpilot's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Temporal canyon is a pretty nice road... 2 wheel drive is fine. Was just in there during the past hunt and no one was camped north of Anaconda springs, and no one was camped in Piper gulch either, both great areas... -

Vintage fishing lures and equipment - is it collectible?
AZLance replied to Coach's topic in The Campfire
I found a bunch of my grandpas old lures and ended up selling them on eBay for over $50 each... I had no idea there was such a market for them. Most were Heddon crankbaits and divers. If you have the box they came in the price goes way up... -
Not many bears in the 35s and most are very small.

Worry about getting it out when you get one on the ground...

I believe it was just the Grand Canyon National Park, other national parks in AZ are still closed and refuges are still closed... And the agreement between the state and NPS is only until October 18th... Then it will be closed again if the shutdown is not resolved. http://www.doi.gov/news/pressreleases/national-park-service-enters-agreement-with-state-of-arizona-to-re-open-grand-canyon.cfm
