Leave Shrek in camp with his Mini 14 and 9 million meter. Nobody would mess with your camp!

That's going to eat good! Don't think you could have centered that shot any better! Congrats!

Can we hunt together? That sounds amazing. Love me some thanks, liver and crown! Any time Casey!

God is good! All the time!

Give thanks to the Lord. Pack him back to camp. Cook the liver with onions and bacon. Enjoy beer and Crown by the dying fire.

Coach, As you can tell it is normal to feel what you are feeling. In today's world it is hard not to get depressed. Too much news coverage showing us how bad the world is. I try to focus on the good things and blessings that God has given me. I thank Him every morning while I watch the sunrise and see the beauty in what He created! When I feel what you are feeling I look to the Bible. Open up to Psalms and let the words rejuvenate you. Good Luck Brother!

Dutch Ovens and cast iron are the way to go, IMO! I've got some 'fancy' Calphalon (both traditional and stainless) for the home kitchen, but I have taken to using the cast iron more and more at home, not just while camping! You likely already know this, but if you are a little new, be SURE to follow the standard instructions/rules for handling of all of your cast iron. NO DISH SOAP EVER!! Break it in right and keep it 'seasoned' well, and you will be loving it!! S. My cast iron skillet and cast iron pot were my Grandfather's. About 100 years old and still going strong!

Camp chef stove and camp chef dutch oven table. 2 Dutch ovens, cast iron pot and cast iron skillet, coffee pot, assortment of utensils and cups. Everything fits in a tote our company used to send process kits in. Not perfect but works pretty good.

Do you get down to the valley much?

McCain straddles the fence so much that his Heuvos are GONE! You can't change your stance every time the wind switches directions! Unless your hunting of course.

One of my favorites is Robert Ruark. Especially "The Old Man and the Boy" 'The best thing about hunting and fishing,' the Old Man said, 'is that you don't have to actually do it to enjoy it. You can go to bed every night thinking about how much fun you had twenty years ago, and it all comes back clear as moonlight.'

Mine was when I was 13 years old. My Dad had the brilliant idea of hiking up the mountain in the dark and ambushing the giant Muley he saw the year before. We got up on the mountain and my Dad and Brother got me settled in. Wrapped up in a noisy space blanket. My Brother went across the saddle about a half mile and Dad took off the other way. About an hour later I heard a huge pack of coyotes going crazy over where my Brother was supposed to be. I thought sure as heck he was getting eaten alive. I was hoping he was enough to satisfy their hunger and they wouldn't come looking for more. Once the coyotes quieted down I could hear animal movement all night long. It seemed like 2 years went by before it started getting light. When I crawled out of that space blanket I spooked some does feeding by me (not sure who was more spooked). I glassed for a couple of hours without seeing any other deer and started still hunting toward where my Dad was supposed to be. Once I met up with him we headed to where my Brothers remains would be found. I was quite surprised to see my Brother heading our way! We headed back to the truck. When we got there we found a mountain lion had made a path circling our camper trying to get to our food locked inside. I dang sure wasn't sleeping out again the next night. We didn't get a deer that year but still laugh about the memories made.

Did you make it through or do I need to put packs of beer on Dexter ? I thought you were a Boy Scout? Be prepared! Never run low on beer during monsoon season!

Wink, I wouldn't even consider throwing a rubber worm your direction. In the ensuing melee, one or both of us could have coronarys. Ain't that the truth. You'd die laughing and I'd die from dancing and screaming!
