Congrats to your Dad on a great buck! I learned to do it the same way. Following my Dad hunting was like trying to a cross between a mountain goat and a badger. His shirt was always in shreds cause he didn't want to go around the manzanita thickets!

I'd pick Knoll. It's farther in and doesn't fill up with people as quick. But it will fill up this weekend. Try and get there early Friday to find a place to camp. If you fish by the dam it will be pretty crowded. If you drop off the side in the middle of the lake you should have a pretty quiet time. Enjoy the weekend.

It wasn't easy repurposing that old tire, still had some tread left. But I know where its at in case of an emergency. And it won't go flat filled with all the dirt.
