I have a GMC Denali 2500HD and I can't find too much to complain about. It rides great and has every creature comfort. Oh wait... the DEF is stupid and did cost me a big chunk of change to fix, a ton of labor and not much in parts. Other than that the truck has been great, we moved over from an Avalanche with a 6" lift but I don't try to push the heck out of it as far as off roading anymore.

Unfortunately there is a lot of that going on these days along with parents going bananas when johnny and sally are expected to actually learn/know something from their studies.

I just got my hands on a 6.5 Creedmoor, weighs right at 5lbs. All of the scopes I have on hand would defeat the purpose due to weight. Still want an elevation turret, so far my search has turned up the following. Leupold VX-5HD 3.-15x44mm, Leupold VX-6HD 3-18x44, Z5 3.5-18x44 BT 4W Leaning towards the Swaro @ 16oz, the Leupolds are ~21oz. The VX6 has some great features but I am not sure it is worth the price. Anyone have experience with these? Anything else out there anyone recommends taking a look at?

Thanks! Specs do show 58in for the Z5. This would put the set up under 6.5lbs. PRDTR the bolt is fluted. I bought the Barrett field craft from a member on this site. Canβt imagine how it could be made any lighter but I am pretty used for o 10lb plus rifles.

Thanks PRDATR I will let you know. I need to get the thing to the range and see if there is a factory ammo it likes. Good suggestion ForkHorn, I may see if I can go fiddle with one at BP or Sportsman's.

It will be on and the kids will pick their favorite commercials. I guess I am voting for the Patriots to lose...

There is a file with all of the templates and fitting guide... 10816 is the model 70 part# https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1999/2905/files/Recoil_Pad_Template_Guide_-_01_2018_-_Web.pdf?4988935229279426438 asking for a stock is going to get no response unless you know what you want since there are so many styles, mfg's, etc.

Congrats! Since it is a peccary my vote from here on out is that they are called PECCERS... Have to be careful who you tell you are going peccer hunting! π

7mm! Have it chambered for the Berger EOL 195 if you reload.

***POST HUNT UPDATE First time hunter, and a Coues first timer
rcdinaz replied to jebuwh's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Pick the unit you can scout the most not the one someone else likes unless they are scouting for you and telling you where to go. If you can spend a lot of time in the unit you will find deer and hopefully figure out the best places to get a shot. -
I will take it, PM on its way.

Yep! But it didn't work real well when I shot mine. Dang things are so quiet he never saw it until it was shot.

I have called in exactly one, and shot exactly one lion. I used a jack rabbit mouth call and a woodpecker decoy. They are virtually silent and it just appeared about 10 feet in front of me fixated on the woodpecker. I think you would also up your odds a bunch if you called at dark with a shotgun now that it is legal. - Make sure you have a tree, rock something at your back - Use a decoy if you can - Calling will probably take a lot more time than coyotes - Wear full camo, I had a full ghillie suit on - Be ready even when it gets boring π

Fantastic! That is a great looking ram and there is nothing like a sheep hunt, the best there is.

My preference is H1000 or Magnum over Retumbo for the 168's. I have used all 3. Now if you are pushing a much heavier bullet like the Berger EOL's Retumbo is the go to due to case capacity. By the way I really like Magnum, it has also been very stable and ball powder is great to work with fast, smooth, never gets stuck when metering.

3 mulies, 5 coues, 4 audad, 1 bear with 7mm RM, 168gr LRAB, same rifle- stiller/brux, Ramshot Magnum powder. 4 different shooters over the last 4 years. From 250yds to 648yds, they have preformed very well!
