Check out the Teryx for sale on the forum right now. I recently bought one off of this site and love it. It is on the heavy side but seats 4 full sized humans. I actually think it is a much better hunting rig than our RZR or Rino were. The one on the site has a ton of extras so it is a great deal!

Finally getting a chance to post some pics from our hunt in S Texas a couple of weeks ago. The hunt was great, pretty warm for a Feb hunt but the animals seemed to like it. We found sheep the very first evening we arrived right out of camp on two different ridges. As with most hunts it started off talking about shooting a giant and as the days went by our expectations became a bit more realistic. I will say the hunt is a lot more difficult than I had thought. The terrain is just like AZ and climbing is slow and often pretty treacherous. Oh and the dang sheep are very, very good at staying about 700-800 yds away or going over the ridge line just as you starts setting up a shot. I will tell you the second day my dad missed a good ram at just under 600yds. I then took a second shot and also cleanly missed. I beat myself up over what went wrong that night and spent an hour going back through the shooter app and the conditions. Turns out the incline was much more than the inclinometer on my rifle showed. When shooting at a VERY steep angle a few degrees makes a big difference in shooting over the target as most of you know. I had entered 20deg and after checking the next day back in the same spot the incline was 26%. Valuable lesson learned and that inclinometer is getting replaced. FYI the one in your phone is very accurate, place the phone on top of the scope cap. So me and a buddy ended up with 2 smaller sheep in the pic. They were a ton of work, our first Aoudad and a memorable trophy. The were both shot at just under 450 yds in the cliffs in the picture and the real accomplishment was making it up and down that crazy mountain! One pic is looking down from the cliffs the other up from the bottom. My dad shot a nice, not giant ram on the last day, actually after we packed up and were starting to head out. He took it at 565yds, one shot near perfect. We found the Nosler ABLR just under the hide on the off shoulder. The ram went about 20 yards and piled up right on its face. If you are jealous of his fine hunting attire it can be found in the stores of 2 of the finest hunting stores known to man Costco and Goodwill. We gave him crap the rest of the day after finding out he was wearing a Goodwill Dback shirt. He pointed out Audad hunting is best done in long white socks which can be had by the dozen at Costco along with cargo shorts. He also pointed out his sheep could take both ours at the same time. (that wasn't really that funny... to me ) So I guess now we are addicted to this hunt, we are already making plans for next year!

Well done! Dang that should be a heck of a fish fry!

Well finally heading out for the first fishing trip. Anyone been to Roosevelt and have any advice I would appreciate it. At some point I plan to head to Windy Hill to see if any buffs are cruising, maybe I can get a few shots with the bow. Any crappie news? I read the bass are working pretty shallow preparing for the spawn. I figure the water is probably pretty dirty with the run off.

As always fantastic stuff! Keep up the good work. -
Just Cerakoted my bolt gun.

Well done! How hard is it to remove cerakote and change the color? -
I have the tactical one and it is sturdy, nice for the ability to change the head from shooting to optics and very adjustable. We have killed deer on the thing out to 500 yards. So the bad: They are noisy to carry because the legs bang against each other, not terrible nose just annoying. The legs come loose so loctite is probably a good idea on the levers because once loose in the field you can't get them to stop sliding back in. The optics head has a lot of play in it so it is difficult to get it set on a critter like a good tripod head. May be a way to add an "O" ring in there to tighten it up but I have not tried yet. I don't want to turn anyone off they are a good setup. I just want to let you know after 4 years of use what I think could be improved. My first choice would be a good tripod that is sturdy enough to use a Triclawps on and a good head but you start looking at a pretty good investment over the Bogpod system.

What DB said! Barrel, cheek pc, break, rail add up pretty quick.

Ghost, thanks for the heads up I deleted some old PM's. This was a hunt my dad set up with a friend north of Presidio so pretty close to the border. I offered to to pass his info along on the site but he said he couldn't take more hunters. It is a small family run outing that they only do very part time. We got very lucky to go fairly last minute. Hunting in Texas seems to be frustrating. A ton of private land and not many people taking hunters unless they charge a ton of money. We heard story after story of great hunting and when we asked they said well we don't really take hunters just friends and family. If he changes his mind I will shoot you a PM.

I am pretty sure that is the key to the "Fortress of Solitude" now all you need is a trip to the north Pole! Take your gun, make it a polar bear hunt combo!

I like the idea for scouting. Not sure about dragging your rifle or bow around and a pack, and that trailer would just be a way for me to jack up the bike and myself because at some point I am going to try a trail that is far too rough... I am smart like that!

Awesome! I saw a lot of boats out looking for them. One of the guys said it was pretty good on Friday but the clouds rolling in slowed everything down. I will probably hit pleasant this week and try and get back to rosie once it warms up again.

Yep that will do it! Great looking hammer of a rifle. GLWS

We got on the water around 9:00 and started fishing right by the windy hill ramp. After about 30min dad landed a really nice one on a spinner, around 3lbs. After that nothing for a couple hours. We finally started catching a few more before noon. Most were on spinners throwing right into haevy cover, almost all hits were after the lure cleared or fell from a branch. All were good 2-3 pound fish. I caught a couple on a shallow running sexy shad before evening. Ended up with 11 fish but it felt slow, we never hit em 3 or 4 in a row in any area. I saw one giant toad of a fish at the very back of a cove but it cruised right by the lure. No top water bite even when we saw shad get busted and we tried. I shot one common carp with the bow, did not see any buffalo. The commons were grouped up in a few of the coves but still very skittish.

Wow great Rams. We never could get a shot at a big one. It is a much tougher hunt than I thought it would be. Very similar to my bighorn hunt. A lot of ridges and cliffs where people should not be walking. Can't wait to do it again!

Sounds good! Will report back tomorrow.

Yep, get a Harris. I tried the caldwell and a few others, one that looks awesome but the Harris simply works and does not give me any issues to have to think about.

The black & white of the Canyon should be sold as a poster!

Good stuff! Kids holding their first fish are the best pictures!

Redding Type S Bushing Full length sizing die
rcdinaz replied to mpriest's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Your best bet is to follow the directions from Redding: Search "bushing selection" on their site and you will get a step by step. After you do this then call them, they are extremely helpful and will give you the best answer for your desired outcome. This will take all of 10 minutes, maybe, and make things easier on you than any trial and error. I would have pasted the link but the site won't let me for some reason. -
What a beast! GLWS!
