I think the deer was an older deer that either lost or didn't have the genetics for growing points. The deer was fat and had more fat than I have ever seen even more than the big ones in Mexico that we have shot. I didn't check his teeth but will soon.

Bear unit is closing, truck is in the shop, what to do...?

Way to get it done! great pics! -
I carried my 12's on the tripod all weekend this weekend. I have the Kuiu case and the suspender type and get tired of taking them on and off for the tripod.

I am glad it worked out for you. LRH is the longrangehunting.com site. I only was able to use the system 3 times not counting playing with it a couple of times in the neighborhood and up north to show a friend how to put one together. I never had any issues and one time used my phone the entire time instead of the laptop. There really is no moving and these old routers were pretty bullet proof. I actually keep the system in an old duffle bag in the garage and last time everything still worked just fine. My kids are getting into shooting more now that they are old enough so I hope to break it out again this winter and get them out to shoot.

Coues With Big Heavy Bullets
rcdinaz replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I am still having great results with the Nosler LRB's but I have been shooting the 168's not the 180's. I shot the 180's in the Dakota but never did put one through a critter after all the time spent shooting out to just past 1K yds. I will try the scenar's in the 6.5 when I get some time to tinker after the season. This will be my first real go with them. -
I am hoping to finish early and head up to the camp. Down south is the only place I was able to get a few spots with bucks pinned down so I have to stick with it. Good luck to everyone!

Gotta love those smiles! Great job!

The site location for the ADA camp info is down. Is it close to Young or up on the rim? If it is close to Young we may try and go up for part of a day just to meet everyone. I have no issue paying to register even if we don't make it, good cause! send me a PM if you are interested in talking about the area.

Really hard to tell you can't see how wide, eye guards, etc. A lot easy to score once he gets knocked down.

Thanks for the tip! Seems we have seen a lot of young ones the last couple of times out. I saw one that was pretty good this reason but surprisingly in an area with a good amount of traffic. My biggest concern on this hunt is all the quail hunters which is the downside of being down south.
-
Great offer... I will be in 23 but down south with my daughter so unfortunately we won't make it up on the rim for the camp.

Rino radios are basically the same as the mot or mid's. They won't usually work canyon to canyon type of landscape. They are awesomme but have their limitations and are not ham type readios.

That thing looks like a big fat farm bear! I thought the first picture was a joke that thing is so fat. It also has really long fur which would make for a great big fat old bear rug. As was said already that thing is going to be awesome eating as well!

Looks like a good deer to me! It really depends on if you know there are bigger deer in the area that you have seen recently. Can you keep an eye out for him while you look for others in the area? If he is in a high traffic area and you don't have option B I would be tickled to put together a plan and fill a tag with him it were me. Actually for me the putting a plan together and being successful is more gratifying than getting hung up on only wall hangers. Even better when you set it all up for a kid or buddy.

Great looking bull!

This one is CF but a big sucker and stable as can be for video. Amanda used to have a similar one in the store. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L1F86CM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage Put a Manfrotto head on and you will be into it for less than $500 which is really cheap for video work, and have a very good set up. I spent months researching and reading recommendations on here and ended up going with this. I have a Bogen and 4 other smaller tripods so I have real world comparisons. The only thing it is missing is the flip lock legs as you pointed out which I prefer also.

That last one is a beauty!

Leupold Golden Ring Spotting Scope, binos, and outdoorsman adapter
rcdinaz replied to a topic in Optics and tripods
Good stuff! someone should buy these in a hurry. I have the small 8x gold rings. It is too bad they quit making them they went head to head with Swaro and Leica on almost all the tests and did just as well. -
Green Bullet, take a look at these threads there is a ton of info from members on the same topic. Great info! http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/57336-i-want-to-reload-i-need-advice/?hl=reloading&do=findComment&comment=554627 http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/32414-reloading/?hl=reloading&do=findComment&comment=306414

I had basically the exact same load Craig is working with and it worked really well. But continuous tinkering has me shooting this one now. Ramshot Magnum 70gr Nosler LRAB Nosler brass Ball powder sure does make loading easier and a little quicker. Also do yourself a favor if you still have to buy brass and buy the Nosler stuff. You will get already prepped brass (flash hole, trim, mouth) that is really great stuff.

Defense was HUGE!

That should work just fine. I have the same scope in SFP and have shot it out to +1,000yds you should be good.
