Lets hear your custom build Bill of Materials
rcdinaz replied to Green Bullet's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
This is my go to right now: Stiller Predator action 7mm RM Brux barrel w/ interrupted fluting Jewel trigger McMillan stock Cerakote desert tan Leupold ER/T Scope Gemtech Suppressor (don't use this much as of now) -
We have 2 250's and don't have problems. Just pick me up if you need to. Where are you guys going that you need a big 4x4? Not bashing just curious, I do get it in the snow.
-
I am sure you have done this but really check out the scope, bases, and screws and make sure they are all tight preferably torqued to the right specs with the correct tool. Then scrub the piss out of it!

best place to procure for custom build
rcdinaz replied to Green Bullet's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Google "custom rifle actions" and you will get pages.. Bat, Defiance, Stiller, Bighorn, Nesika, Surgeon, Borden.... You will have to start with what action you want and what you are willing to spend. My favorite rifle is built on a stiller predator action and a brux barrel. After you have the action it is pretty easy to find a left hand barrel, trigger, rings, bases, etc. You may have to plan on waiting for a stock depending on what you are looking for. McMillan and HS usually have inventory as does Stocky's, the others plan on waiting. LRH or Sniper hide are going to be the quickest resources for info and feedback as sugar bear pointed out, good place to look. -
YouTube! Watch the pros and their vids then pick out a fre techniques and get after it. Don't get discouraged just take it all in and relax and stay at it.
-
Yep that is one fat bear!

Sounds like you have tried wverything... Mine loves H1000 or Ramshot Magnum and Nosler LR bullets in 168gr. Pull the stock look for rubbing, check scope bases and screws. You can try polishing it by hand ir with the Tubb's kit if tou want to keep chasing accuracy with that barrel. That's all I got! Good luck!

Awesome, Congratulations!

Now I see him! Little tree frog, my daughter catches them all the time up in Pinetop. I guess they don't have to be to close to water because she has caught them in the middle of the woods and by the house. Now if you had found the pig that would have been an amazing find!

An invisible one is my guess! VERY rare to actually catch one.

I have a pair of Zamberlands also and they are awesome well made boots. That being said the toe box is not quite perfect for me but they are much better for carrying a heavy pack. I also agree that 90% of the time the gore-tex is a waste and just makes your foot sweat. I probably went through a dozen high end boots over 5-6 years before finding the Asolo fit my foot best. I still want to try the Crispi boots because they are made on a European last and should fit better. I also want a pair of Ahnu for light hiking. I bought my daughter a pair and she loves them and they weigh nothing. Get what fits not just the name you like best. I take constant crap from one of my buddies for wearing tree hugger boots from REI. I keep telling him those hiking dorks really know their stuff when it comes to boots and you can return anything. Plus the look on some of their faces when I tell them I am hunting is priceless. Someone has to fill those little bags of jerky they sell.

Ya! Can of chew! Maybe a 6 pack for the evening celebration... Just sayin'

If you are local or going right back to a big tree in camp winching that sucker up there is probably pretty dang convenient.

Wow 5 yards, even I can hit that! Great buck!

The black light at night can be scary! I have ben fortunate and did not have scorpions at my last house even though the neighbor 2 houses down said he had them everywhere. We had an eco pest service that came regularly and apparently did a good job especially considering we have 2 tortoise that are still alive and healthy. I think you have to stay on top of these little boogers or they will be hard to get rid of. I hope we are as luck in our new place as we have been in the past.

Thanks prdtr! I have the brake controller that was my poor attempt at sarcasm. The wheels had a weight rating but I did not see anything with a psi rating, the weight rating should be okay for a 5k lb trailer. The wheels are only rated 2,200lbs and the tires 3,400lbs. I am only driving about 100 miles and will probably stay at a campground so no rough stuff. I will drive around town first and make sure everything checks out. I planned on stopping half way as well to eat and check everything out. I read about the 4 PSI rule on tire inflation, if it goes up by more than you probably need more air. Now I can't find that article but that was what I had written down, AZ heat may make the rule less applicable. The truck is not my daily drive it is my hunting and fishing rig. I pull a boat with it fairly often but the boat, trailer, and all the gear is still probably less than 3K and the hitch weight is pretty low. I have never even though of messing with the tires with the boat but will be a little more aware now.

Okay I did google this one but there were so many different answers I figured I would see what you guys with trailers do locally. Vehicle: Avalanche with 35" M/T tires on 18" wheels, load E, max PSI 80 (yikes) If I am towing a ~5,000lb trailer how should I run my tires. From google and many forums I have seen anywhere from 40-65 PSI. Most recommend front ~5lbs less than rear (when towing). From the tire shop they were set around ~38lbs.
-
Thanks for all of the feedback! I finally found a tire load inflation chart on the Toyo page, only took me a couple hours of searching! It looks like I don't need to go over 60psi and probably only in the rear tires where the weight is greatest. I would still be guessing on the weight per tire to match the chart.
-
looks are second or 3rd!!! Haha feel is everything! It's only your life bud, not a big deal? I hope it does not end up that dramatic. We have towed 2 similar trailers without messing with the tire pressure but after reading more about mileage and stopping I decided we should start doing it right. Do I really need a brake controller? jk
-
Holy Smokes, those are incredible! The second and last should be posters for sale.
-
Thanks for the feedback! I read that the larger the wheel usually a bit more PSI as well. Sounds like 50 all around is a good starting point and see how it looks and feels.
-
Any info on how it shoots?
-
Guess I am the only one wearing Asolo. Have for the past 5-6 years mostly because they fit my C width foot so well. They have been great boots.
-
I still have yet to call in a bobcat, well done!
-
Wow! Great looking drop tines!
