    Jesse Ventura...

ya , ya , ya ... I did read it and I do understand how civil court and a jury work. It was a post about peoples opinions not a civics course assignment. Actually most of the members on here do seem to be interested in facts for the most part. Still more of the garbage everyone deals with due to how easy it is to sue someone and the ridiculous sum of money the lawyers make from these actions. I am sure insurance paid but I am also sure a great deal of money went to the legal teams on both sides. What a waste...
  2. I have 8's, SLC 10's and 15's and still put down the gut wrenching cash on the 12's. They are awesome the FOV is really amazing which makes them very bright. I have so many binos because everytime i add a hunter to the crowd i eventually buy a new pair. So my dad and daughters use the others. I am pretty much set on the 12'a now.

    Jesse Ventura...

How did he win when he is clearly lost his marbles? What kind of judge did they find for this case? Further proof being a politician rots your brain and removes common sense.

    Vortex vs. Minox vs Zeiss

I have read the new zeiss are pretty good. However, you can pick up some swaro's used on here for a great price. I have the original SLC's about 8 years old and they are still great binos. Swaro will service or fix for not much money and have sent me a couple of lost parts for free ovet the years. I have EL's, gold rings, HD Spotter, kahles, vortex, optics so have compared or used quite a fee of brands. I still think the EL 12's are the bino king of the hill but everyone is getting closer to the same mark.
  5. This is the one thing I can't get over no matter which side of the aisle is giving their pitch. Probably also the reason Rand Paul with his libertarian leanings is the front runner for the GOP right now. I really think people are getting tired of spending money on foreign and corporate affairs just to watch taxes climb.

Early November 2014 36B Coues Tag

Agreed, last year I did not think it was bad at all and I like the area. 1:100 ratio is probably not an exaggeration. One weekend I saw ~60 deer and only two bucks. We had a couple weekends that were better but there are does everywhere.
  8. I am NOT a fly fisherman but his is funny stuff! My buddies are fly fisherman, a loosely applied term as I have seen them catch everything on the river but a fish many, many times... and yes at least one of them drowned 8 different color of nymphs on the last trip only to be told by a 10 year old kid that they were hitting good and he caught about 30 fish. Grown man about to beat up a Jr High kid... Now that is funny stuff!

    New youth hunter - questions

I think you got a bunch of good answers. I will only add to the feedback on cleaning. Cleaning game doesn't really phase my girls and never has. My oldest did the pig dissection on biology in her class because the 2 boys were pansies. I never pushed them or made them watch or touch anything. Kids are just super curious so if you act like it is a great honor and answer all their questions they will surprise you and jump right in there touching the teeth, eyes, bones, hide, and so on. My younger one literally wants to see and touch everything and is in awe and has great respect for how the animals are put together and loves to eat/try any wild game she can. So just let nature take its course and your daughter will be right there with you when you clean her deer.

    2014 3B muzzleloader deer

Well there are some that aren't that far off that is for sure. I think the wild horses have run most of the deer and elk back into the forest. When does the season open on those things?

    2014 3B muzzleloader deer

I have cameras there and kick around in the area a lot. Shoot me a PM with your email and next time i am up i will let yiu know whats shows in the pics. Had one big one last year and a couple decent ones but it is tough to pattern deer in this unit. Had two good ones early summer but they went into hiding.
  14. After byuing the book and talking to Duane the next thing you can do is volunteer to help out on a sheep hunt. Your butt will go numb but you will get in a lot of time behind glass and there is nothing like it. Obviously you can practice on deer but not many people take a crew with them on a deer hunt. One of the best parts of a sheep hunt is glassing and learning, it is much more laid back in some ways. Go to the sheep society meeting and you can meet some guys that have hundreds maybe thousands of hours behind binos most of them are pretty helpful.
  15. I have two teenage girls with tags this year! I sent you a PM.

    Results are up

My girls both have 3C tags! Should be the hunt of a lifetime. I got skunked again but who cares if I get both of them out on this hunt.
  17. Last year I bought a B&S 3,500 Watt generator from Home Depot. I need to sell it as the plan was to use it with my dad and it is just to heavy for him to get it in and out of a truck. I ended up buying a smaller inverter/generator that he can handle. 1yr old 3yr warranty paid ($80) We ran break-in and then used it to run some fans and a battery charger. Basically brand new and sitting in garage Link to product info. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Briggs-Stratton-3-500-Watt-Gasoline-Powered-Portable-Generator-CARB-030550/203180794?N=5yc1vZbx9nZa8
  18. $350 obo Nobody needs a basically new genny for hunting season or for work? If anyone has a bow fishing bow, 6.5 bergers or Amax, brass, Rem LA HS or McMillan or similar stock we could work out a trade.
  19. Give Sportsman's a call and see if they have 300RUM HSN (Hunting Shack Munitions). This is probably the only way you can shoot a VLD bullet and try in before you start loading. They were making both 185gr and 210gr Berger Hunting VLD. If they have them do not wait around have them held and go buy them immediately or they will disappear. If you can't find that the Remington stuff is as good as any.
  20. H1000 - H1000 - H1000 For me it has been the most consistent and had the best groups. May be a bit slower but shoots lights out. You did not specify what size bullet you wanted to shoot or if you were spcifcally making a rond for a certain critter. for Coues I like the 190 bergers, for bigger creitters the 210's are awesome. Berger has the starting loads for both on their page or they will email your a list of acceptable powders with the bullets you want to shoot. I really like the LR Nosler's as well but I have only run them through the 7mm's at this time.

    The herd's lookin good....

Nasty! No way I am eating something like that, may be labeled as ignorant, the permanent visual would make it impossible. Poor deer!
