    6" lift

RCD I have an Avalanche and the 6" was perfect and completely changed the truck for the better. BDM Customs in Tempe will probably be the best deal you can find anywhere.

    Budget Binos's ?

Borrow some and save. For an inexpensive pair most people would lone them to you, you can always return the favor. For $200 you could rent some from Ross Outdoor as well. Or find a used pair to really stretch your $.

    Tikka t3 hunter

My daughter has the T3 Lite in .243. Great shooting gun!
  4. I may try that and see next summer. Same load I run the berger so it is just a change in bullets. DesertBull & iz, what primers are you guys using? I switched from fed to CCI in my magnums.
  5. Okay 69.5g with the 168's. One of the best shooting loads of all my rifles.

    Trail cam bear

I think it is a walrus with fur, sure that's a bear? Great pic, thanks!
  7. H1000 and Berger 168's shoot great in my gun. I don't have the powder charge info handy until the end of the week. I think I posted this before so you might search past posts.

    San Carlos "LAKE" 9/23/13

Wow! Actual water not just mud. That is really great to see, let's hope it keeps filling. With all the grass may be a home run for the ducks! Thanks for the update!

    Vortex Razor HD 65mm

I am a Swaro die hard and I think you made a great purchase. The Razor line from Vortex are all great products. Happy hunting!

    Base and rings

Any base or ring combo will work. Most would probably prefer a one piece base and it would be easy to go with the Vortex rings and use their customer service help. The easiest rings to work with are probably Burris Signature rings since the floating plastic inserts insure you wont pinch the scope tube and if necessary you can use the offset rings for alignemnt, take a look at their site for details. For a bipod Harris is the standard, the Caldwell ones also work and cost less but are slightly less refined than the Harris version. Mounting them is a non-issue if you already have a sling stud to work with on your stock.

    ASU/ Wisconsin

Uhhhh. Wisconsin's coach even said they screwed up and that is not what they practice 100's of times. He said they always spike the ball. Now he was not agreeing with the ref but when people jump on and talk about embarrassed fans it is just sour grapes. Clearly it was a stupid series of events from top to bottom which is why the horrible refs were in disarray. I do agree the refs need to find new jobs, they aren't good at this one! I actually don't think it matters for either team as their schedules don't give them much hope of playing for a rose bowl spot anyway. Wisconsin will lose a few they are not that good and the ASU schedule is fantastically difficult. I just hope they beat Notre Dame and UofA. 😀
  13. 25-06 may be another really good choice or you could do the 308 case but with a little bit more speed 7mm-08. Light recoil, popular youth model caliber. Let us know what you go with, sounds like a great project!

    ASU/ Wisconsin

The refs were horrible and I am not a whine about the refs guy! Remember they had just blown an out of bounds call the play before where Wis would have been down on the ~45. Wis got away with more holding of the receivers, chop blocks, and late hits than I have seen in college. Probably hard to see on TV but being there it was horrible to watch them hold the receivers on every play. Oh and the fake injury the ref helped with, that was just pathetic. They really need to fine the college big time for that garbage!

lions without a dog...can it be done?

Yep... find where they are and glass and call. I called mine into about 15 yards, scared me stiff! There is a lot of luck involved just like all hunting. If you work at it you will increase your odds. I have only seen 3 in my lifetime all by accident other than the one I called in. Good luck!
  18. No suggestions on the 6.5-284? I guess it isn't all the rage it was a few years back. I like the .270WSM recommendation as well as the 280, 7mm-08 rounds. Are you planning on reloading or are you looking for off the shelf ammo accuracy and a quick turn package? I say Tikka or Savage. If you are wanting/willing to reload and scrape along for better accuracy then you have a lot of choices for caliber. I tell most people to avoid all the added cost of a custom if they have no desire to work on reloading. You can get most of what you need off the shelf with some simple improvements, bedding or changing the stock etc. I have one Tikka, my daughters .243 and I could run up a mountain with that little sucker and be fine. I was shocked at how well it shot right out of the box. They do have a 1 MOA guarantee so not much downside.

    Swaro"s vs Kiabab

Everything I have bought from swaro is worth as much today as I paid for them. 10x42, 15x56, and the spotter! The only exception might be the RF which is much cheaper to buy used. I think the Kaibabs are a great deal but you wont be able to get much more than half of what you paid if you decide to sell the and upgrade.
