rcdinaz replied to twigsnapper's topic in The Campfire
  That is funny my dad is the same way he sleeps in a tent by himself most of the time about 50 yds from anyone else. It is a mystery of science how loud some people can snore it does not seem possible! -

Good for you! I think most would have made them walk to town. -
May get out a day or two this weekend on the Rim. I am going to hit 23S also but not until the 2nd week.

- Being late or not ready definitely top of the list. - Inability to follow directions or make a decision. Usually starts with "I Don't care what do you want to do?" . These words should be taboo in the field this is serious $#it dude if you dont have valuable input or a valid opinion then zip-it, listen, and follow directions. - Showing up with another person or their kid, :COME ON" lets plan a kids trip and a big boy trip and NEVER shall they mingle. - Acting like one of their spots is gov classified. Always ends up being a guy you helped take an animal or shared all your intel with. - Arguing or complaining, it's hunting it is the happiest time of the year don't bring down my vibe! I can go back to the estrogen mansion where it is my job to field complaints if I need to be irritable. - Last one, people who are only happy if THEY are successful... There are times when i have been just as excited or proud of helping someone else. Sorry its a long list, I hunt with a lot of interesting people. -
Same for me...

I have one and it is ridiculous, we call it the Fred Flinstone car because you have to pedal it to speed up. I use it as a commuter because I have HOV lane plates which are worth more to me than the car. Return buyer for a hybrid is around 30% so they aren't nearly as successful as people are led to believe. A lot of good info on the list but I did catch a few that are skewed to make a point. The issue of less funding per student is not due to less funding but to a lot more students and the fact that anyone can get into college now. A few others like that where they are only telling part of the story.

Good info, thanks!

Great pic! I did something similar once going to sit under a tree but the thing took off when I sat down and I thought I was being attacked by Batman. So I get the whole "almost wet myself".

Get a ballistic app for your phone and input the different variable or go to the Vortex site where they have a very easy one to use that you can save/print profiles on. Coues Sniper is correct the drops are not that difficult to remember, the only thing that can be tough is the inclination (up or down) which is hard to measure without an ADI/ACI, range finder that calculates, or smart phone that calculates. The tough thing is going to be learning windage calculations which are much easier with a card. Generally for wind you memorize or print the variable at 10mph and then use fractions of this for actual conditions. 5 mph = 1/2x, 15mph = 1.5x, etc. I ran through the turret set up with 3 different rifles and I really believe it works really well out to 600-700yds. Temp and altitude were not a huge factor and temp drop offset elevation increase to a degree. about + or - 2k ft after that it can move a lot. I have said in other posts I use Shooter it is worth the $9.99, you can save profiles and email drop cards to yourself for printing. It also utilizes your phones inclinometer and other features if needed.

Good brief explanation! But i feel left out all of my scopes are in mils 1" ~ 0.3 mils @ 100

Awesome! I saw a Javalina with an obvious white stipe around him, more than just the color you could see it from a few hundred yards away. NEVER seen a deer with anything albino or otherwise.

how do you get the "new" smell out of your ground blind
rcdinaz replied to kennyazman's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Open it in the backyard and spray it down inside and out with the hose, while your at it leave it out for a day so the sun takes any of the sheen off of it. The duck and goose hunting crowd wipe them down with mud so there is no glare, just food for thought. Before you put it away spray it down with a bottle of your favorite sent blocker product, probably not necessary but for another $5-$6 seems worth it to me. Runningbird had some really good suggestions. When I used to varmint hunt a lot I would walk through the cow pies to get the journey started. -
Thanks for the review! Enjoy your turret it is impressive you were one click away at 1,000. I have had plenty of outings where even with a ballistic program, with atmosphere input, and a lot of other factors I was still off by more than that. By the way you can always use the turret for your go to load and switch it back for other load development and training, no harm there. Good luck this season!

WANTED - A Few 30 Caliber Berger Bullets
rcdinaz replied to rossislider's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have some in 190 left. Shoot me a PM, I am in Chandler. -
Great pics again! Poor bear looks like he got his but kicked good or got rolled under a car.

Hit one driving down the interstate! I am a really bad turkey hunter so I would like to see some suggestions also. I only seem to find them when I am fishing or varmint hunting.
-
This is great advice! Just this year I have had batteries die no pics, SD card popped out (probably after I dropped it) no pics, branch in front of the sensor 820 pics of the wind! Ugg gas money alone could have bought me a few more cameras!

We have put the 95's through two guns but have not tried the 105's for the same reason you suggest. Even with the 95's my daugheters Tikka shoots them well and my buddies Marlin does not like them. We use the 4831SC for the .243's but to see if the bullet was even a candidate we started withe the HSM (hunting shack) loads we picked up at Sportsmans (claimed 3174fps), we then took that brass to start handloads with. Don't quote me on this because I don't have the load log in front of me but I beleive we stopped around 45gr, I have seen loads a bit higher on other forums, the Tikka is not a long barrel so the diminishing point of return was around the 45 mark. As always start low and see what it takes to get the MV you are after. I doubt the 105's will shoot well based on Berger recommending 1:8 twist I have read that even the 1:9 twist barrels some guys had still did not shoot well. Seems i keep going back to the Winchester CT 95gr bullet for the 6mm's. Read the Speer 100gr do well because they are not a super long VLD design so they will stabilize better so you cold look at those but I have not tried them. N160 seems to be a popular powder for the heavy VLD's with the long range & bench rest crowd also you may check that out.

I have been using a 6x24 and 6x20 for awhile now. The only time I have had problems is having it turned up and not planning for a close shot. A couple months ago I shot a coyote and the other two with it high tailed it right at me. I shot over one of them 2 times shooting mostly at fur in the scope, at least I got the first one.

I have a Kimber also, best looking handgun I have and it shoots better than I can. I should spend more time shooting it and would if it was a rifle. I am not a plastic pistol hater either have come very close a couple of times to buying and XD, just cant beat the style and feel of a 1911.

7mm Rem Mag and Federal 110 grn Barnes Triple-Shock
rcdinaz replied to SunDevil's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
You can get pretty much any cartridge to shoot a light for caliber bullet at crazy speeds but accuracy/stability usually suffers. I have shot light 6mm bullets through my 6/284 and 150gr bullets through the 300 RUM among other and they just don't shoot great. For one if you are hand loading you just can't usually get them within a mile of the lands in your rifle which in most rifles means round will be far from ideal for accuracy. Some guns don't care or may like the jump, none of mine seem to. Also, you have a 7mm take advantage of the great high BC bullets out there and the energy they product WAY out there. -
They have been out a while, a friend bought a pair of the bino's about 3 years ago and he loves them. I think they are a bit on the heavy side but that being said they seem very durable and the glass is very good. I think they are a pretty good value but with Vortex and some of the new companies there is a lot of competition.
