Tough to not find them in 1, finding a big one is a whole different story. It seems to be one of those units where they are all about the same size. I have not seen a big one in there in a long time. I am sure there are a few good ones there if you put in the time. I don't think I would use a guide for this unit unless you just don't have time to make a few scouting trips. If you need some extra eyes ask on the forum. Apparently it is looking like I will have some time to help with and antelope or elk hun this year. 🙄

Shot mine last year with. 7mm RM. Would use any 6mm or lager caliber. Remember it can Be very windy, I was glad to have a heavier 7mm load during my hunt.

oh my bad... that one doesn't make much sense. Sounds like a testing anomaly or change of some other variable.

The bullet is under load longer in the longer barrel. Also the bullet starts slowing immediately upon exit of the barrel, conversely it is speeding up and under pressure while it is in the barrel.

We go through this all of the time even when spotting. Comments like by the tree, the green bush, the round rock and so on have caused arguments for an entire weekend. 😁 And some people just visualize and see things almost like you do and chasing game with them is super efficient. One of the guys in our group that has been hunting with us for 20 years is color blind so it can get ridiculous. One thing that works when I remember and have time is to use the clock descriptions for angles. Even then we sometimes have people that do not know what 10 o'clock is so if we are spotting I find myself describing a landmark and calling it that time. At least the hunter knows where to look and go with a little less margin of error.

We got the Ninja and like I said we are still figuring it out. I like the one above for the accessories and that rack that can be adjusted.

The entire rest of the planet eats horse. I agree with the South facing slopes and I think that is a good starting place but more and more I seem to see deer in the same places that have nothing to do with the sun position. Food, water, vantage point, other deer, staying away from coyotes and people, among other things seem to be more important. So sun position is a big factor but not the only one

Wow! How did the reservation find a way to keep them off their land? They apparently are running all over the border but only on state land. 😳 Maybe they will keep heading over to New Mexico.

It really depends but most of the time the chambers are empty. Once game is located I have no issue with having one in the chamber even if you are still trying to close the distance or improving a shooting position.

Looking for the best way to do this on a standard rifle stock, not a chassis stock. I have a triclawps but this would be even simpler and takes up no space. I have looked at the Aristotle but the best option seems to be mounting an Arca Swiss plate just in front of the magazine. Should allow the rifle to be pretty balanced and the best part is it would fit all of my tripods since I converted them all to the same style tripod head. The new plates are faster and easier than anything else, probably why the new Outdoorsman's use Arca now as well. could still use the Harris bipod in its current forma as well. I just can't find much info on doing the install and was hoping someone already had this type of setup.

I like your idea to remove one easily. I was looking at a gunsmith in PA also that was building them. I haven’t looked in the last few years. I think they were $200, waiting for him to answer back my PM. May take a couple of days. Will pass on the info if he is still doing them and the price is right.

I have a pair of Swaros that ~25 years old and they are in great shape. Lens pen, wipes, spray and glass cleaning cloth. I have cleaned them with all of them. I just try to blow off or use the pen to get off as much of the loose dust ad possible. Keep them in a case and they are good.

There is a big write up on Rokslide. Swaro still had the edge but Kowa is very close. Some guys like the Kowa better, you know the drill everyones eyes are different. For me my Swaro ATS is clearer but it is really how much better they are edge to edge not that anything is lost when zooming in on game. I also have pretty much everything in Swaro so I am very used to their glass. I still want a pair of Kowa big eyes! No substitute for much less eye strain with 2 tubes.
