My buddy killed a lion on our turkey hunt this year. He called it into 7 yards. A 3 inch number 5 did the trick.

Well if they did not give people something to bitch about what else would the game and fish haters have to live for.

They do have a date they got them out early. If you want a hard date just don't look at the results until the posted date.

Use to hunt there alot in the early 90's had like 600 bull tags never did run into alot of hunters. Those elk are so use to people all year that they know how to move around them.

Don't think you have to get away from people to harvest big bulls. Basically dont walk away from elk trying to walk away from people. Lots of elk find what you want and hunt him hard.

So the game and fish does not have the results out before their published deadline and they are getting beat up. If I was the commission I would just wait until the published date every year that way the winers can have a hard date. (lol) I didnt get hit so it's pretty easy to not care about the results.

I would not believe the regular unit 1 cow tag would be available in the 3rd choice draw it's normally taken in the 1 and 2 pass. Now if you put in for the limited oppurtunity type hunts it could be your third choice.

With all this bitching every year and us getting use to early results they would be best served to never annouce them early and stick to their April date. It would sure save them having to answer calls everyday about the draw results.

What exact problems are the game and fish having? So far all the issues that have been posted on here are issues with individual credit cards? How is this the game and fish's problems. They have said what they will do if a card does not go thru on the first try. They have not failed to meet their printed deadline.

I use to start picking up average size brown muleys the second week of April in upper 27. We would find the big stuff a couple weeks ealier.

So last night I was reserving a campsite at cattail state park and they charged my card up front and I am not staying there until friday. If they can do that being a state agency how come they can not pre charge for a tag?

Congrats Kidso. I saw the squirrel story yesterday and started laughing, my wife asked what was so funny as I told her I was wondering how fast the coues whitetail game and fish bashers would take to get this on Coues forums so they could beat up the game and fish again.

My comment was leaning more towards someone used facts instead of I think, I heard or the many other rumor starting thought process's that are out there. I have had the same conversation bc777 with numerous friends, if lions killed that many deer I would tend to think I would come across alot more dead deer in the woods. I would like to see the sheep make it because the more places we have sheep the more hunter opportunity there is. However I have to agree this one was not thought out to well.

Wow a hundred lions in that small patch and you guy's that live down there cant glass them up and kill a lion. I would think that should be the most popular spot in AZ for the guy's that want to kill a lion(lol). I do have to agree it does not sound like this was planned out well.

You guys that deer hunt near there should be excited. The deer hunting should get better with all those cats gone.

I like the way your story sounded you were more excited than alot of guys are when they take monster bulls.That is why I like to take new hunters more than to actually hunt myself anymore.

So my question is this. What should have been done? Should the game and fish never try to reestablish herds? Would a all out blitz on lions before a stocking just cause a media nightmare? I'm just wondering what all you guy think should have happened. I like the idea of having herds reestablished but not at the expense of loosing so many animals with little chance of survival.
