    Glassing and Rain

Just cover up and glass as soon as it pass's. A lot of times the deer will get moving right after as it cools things off.
  2. Way back in the day when I duck hunted in the tonto I always carried 7.5 steel shot for quail as we would be hunting the creek for ducks and would run into quail. I never had no issues killing them with the steel shot. I still use it every once in awhile when I hunt the refuge down at topock.

    AZ Black Rattlesnake color change

We were walking thru some super thick ferns on sunday at about 6000 foot elevation and couldn't even see are feet when we had one light up that sounded like he was within a foot of my son. Looked just about like he was walking on air coming back up the hill. Never saw it but assumed it was probably a black for where we were at.

    ATTENTION UNIT 23 LOVERS!

The thing is Delw has been around the Az boards a long butt time and we all know who he is. You showed up a couple days ago and want us to support a guy we have never heard of. Several members have pointed out that your information was not as straight forward as you say. So you have presented your info and it has been somewhat digested and it doesn't look like you sold to many on it's merits. You might have tried starting with the organizations that actually do great things for the Az wildlife and in which alot of this site tend to support.

  11. If you really scouting get onx maps and find tracks of land that don't have roads. Also look for cover type spots that bigger bucks will use to hide in. Walk the wash's and look for tracks if you consistently see bigger tracks then find high ground and start glassing he lives there somewhere.

    Leftover Shrinkage

Did the price of trucks go down thru the years that the tag numbers went down? With your theory tag numbers should have climbed every year but with the above numbers there were numerous years they went down. Tags went down again this year I guess they didn't need any trucks.

    Sheep Tag Drawn-24BN

The biggest question is does your dad want to hunt a sheep or just shoot a sheep after a hike? If the biggest sheep someone else finds is what he wants to shoot then go guided. If he wants the experience of knowing he found and killed the biggest sheep he worked for then go unguided. Either way what ever makes him happy is what it is all about.

What is max points for deer

Might have scouted up a big buck and that's the only way to hunt the unit. Years ago there were some pretty good ones in there. I have not even looked around the unit since it went to a draw.

    Unit 23

There are alot of hunters in the pueblo park area during that hunt but most are road hunting the highway from luna work some of the bigger canyons with glass there are some nice bucks to be had. The road from pueblo down to the highway on the south side if you walk in south there are not many roads that direction as you head towards the blue wilderness those ridges for a guy willing to hike in can be real good for deer. I don't think you will find any big populations of deer anywhere in there but when I use to elk hunt it we would see deer pretty regular.
