Wonderful eyes. Good job.

No way. 150 maybe. Class III. Note how much room on the scalp, between the bases.

Years ago, ASU (Tempe) had a lab in the animal sciences dept. or maybe wildlife sciences, where they kept a culture of beatles and would do a skull upon request. Not sure if the guy who ran this function has handed it off to someone else or not, but might be worth giving them a call.

Thanks for sharing that story. What barrel is on your m700? Also, is that a VX-5 or VX-6? CDS or turret? Lucky kids right there!

Same message.

Ram looks like a nelsoni, vs. mexicana. Landscape looks like nelsoni country.

A quick way to judge for age is to look for the old ram with a pot belly and sunken hindquarters.

Man talk about easy on the eyes! Wonderful to see a classic, in a true all-around caliber, treated right by someone who really knows how to shoot. 3031 was what I used in my first .308, a long time ago. Thanks for posting. She is a lucky gal.

I am partially crippled and can not do the mountains anymore. But she and I have sat under the same oak tree for over forty years and never failed to kill a buck. She has never missed a deer season since she started hunting, except for the four years in the Army.
That's a good story. Would be great to see a photo of the m70. What load did she use?

Hey Zack,
Great hunt and write-up. Lifetime trophy right there. With respect to your misfires, I suspect low O2 may not have been the issue. If you could breathe, there was enough O2 to light the fire. I suspect the problem was atmospheric pressure, reducing the concentration of spark at the point where the powder had to catch. Just a guess. Maybe quiz the guys on Monstermuleys.com or Bowsite.com, especially the CO hunters? Thanks for posting.

Funny I know, but hunted with a couple of guys who used them, and they were spotting game like no tomorrow. Young eyes make all the difference.

Love my 10x42 early morning scanning , and they are my go to hands down , to find a lot deer quick .
My HD are new to me , just took awhile to justify the extra cost . I break out the 15s , after scanning . I’m definitely, lucky my 15s , fit my eyes for comfort . I do find , my HD have slight edge over my regular Swarovski and definitely lighter .
True thought , I just tell myself, I have Swarovski and there no excuse to come up with , why I can’t find deerOk but what about eye relief? Std. 15x56 are only 14 mm, which means I can't use them with glasses. Without glasses, I still get a pretty decent image, but correction is diopters only, not astigmatism. Does eye relief on the HD 15x56 seem better?
I have heard the 10x42 SLC are somewhat underrated.
