TRUMP executive order....pay attention
ctracingraptor replied to ctracingraptor's topic in The Campfire
So is this guy saying that if the Bear Wallow Wildnernes Area was properly maintained and possibly had logging and "multi-use" done to it, the fire wouldn't have been so large? I personally love wilderness designation areas, and that's why I'm trying to bring attention to all of this. What I'm curious about, so if there ends up being as massive fire on that land, how are they going to pay the bill. How much does the government contribute when the state asks for assistance and claim it as a natural disaster. -
If anyone hasn't noticed , trump retracted the land antiquities act, the put the national monuments in the hands of the state, no longer held by the federal government. If you can read between the lines on this one, I firmly believe the state will not want to pay the bill to keep national monuments open, the overhead must be tremendous. The state will start to eventually sell off the land to investors or whoever can pay, which in turn will shrink the land we all love to hunt on. I'm not saying there are going to be houses soon on the Grand Canyon, but it's very possible. Lots and lots of land just got forced onto the state. It won't take much before a place like Yellowstone is reduced because the land was sold for commercial or residential use.

Smoking deal on a pack, I'll go next in line lol

She is a hunter, I got her first deer in the Kaibab about 5 years ago. She pulled that tag with no points and first time ever putting in. We chose December because we could work around the hunting schedule. She has recently found shed hunting to be fun, and actually enjoys it. I would have never thought she would like to hike 8-10 miles carrying her pack and sheds lol

I'm getting married at the end of this year, the fiancé would like a larger outdoor venue, she has crunched the numbers and has show me the spreadsheet. Two things that seems overpriced to me are a DJ and a photographer, I won't knock on a person of their trade but I'm sorry I just don't get it, the amount of money they want for 5-6 hours of works is absurd. So if anyone knows anyone in those lines of work that's looking for some work, please let me know. I'm also still shopping around for rentals on tables, chairs, porta potties, heaters, pretty much everything, still looking for a cake person as well. Anyone have any help I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not trying to be cheap, I was looking for references and options, and was hoping somebody knew someone in those lines of work.

I agree with both of statements, I've been to weddings that have had a bad DJ and those getting married still talk bad about it to this day. Same goes with a photographer, I've seen some very upset women afterwards.

TRUMP executive order....pay attention

From what I understand, once the land became federal on bear ears land, they claimed farming, ranching, timber harvest, mining, oil and gas exploration, would not be affected. What ended up happening was once the lease was up they told them to go pound sand, either halting or greatly reducing what happens on that land. I could be wrong and that's only coming from what I have read on the web -
I will accept your donation, but if not...... free bump for a great guy and a great scope

Secretary Ryan Zinke said he will examine whether any designations had led to loss of jobs, reduced wages and reduced public access, because some of these areas were put off limits for traditional uses, like farming, ranching, timber harvest, mining, oil and gas exploration, fishing, and motorized recreation. I wonder if it does open the option to do the "traditional uses" and the lands again -

Thank you IA for the great breakdown of info, as you stated it would take an act of Congress to covert the land back to the state, the ONLY point I'm trying to make is the EO, merely allows the state to get there foot in the door. The state land is bill is something I strongly disagree with regardless and is not related to the EO. -

the grand canyon is an example, and i didnt say the National Forest are up fore sale, by giving the control back to the state, within the national forest lies the grand canyon park, and within that park lies the grand canyon nation monument, now where the line can be drawn on what is a park and and what part is a nation monument within that park, i cant say because i just dont know. If you ignore the Grand Canyon and look at the other monuments within the state, or the other monuments that are in the western states, there is nothing stopping a land grab from happening. Last year AZ passed a Senate Bill to allow the sale of state trust land, i cant remember which one though. Yeah i could be overreacting, and this would be a worst case scenario. If you looks at the "Bears Ears" Monument, what is stopping the state from passing a bill, to allow the 1.4 million acres that was set aside by the government, to be sold by the state? I stated that I hope i'm wrong about this, and i merely stated that all this did was get the ball rolling on thing that would possible end up happening. Sure it would take alot of paperwork to make those things happen, but i'm just convinced that it IS possible... -

You're right I got ahead of myself, Yellowstone is a park. The Grand Canyon is a monument, and is fair game. Arizona has the most national monuments (18) than any other state, maybe not the most total acreage, but regardless. I hope I'm overreacting and would love to be wrong about this one.. -
Great video, made the hair on the back of my neck stand up, I'm so proud to be a AES member and volunteer, Hunt for Heroes is a phenomenal program.

Good price for Kodiak 8 man Flexbow $499?
ctracingraptor replied to twigsnapper's topic in Classified Ads
The one your looking at isn't the Deluxe, I'm not sure if that matters to you or not, but I don't think it's a great deal. Cabelas has the Deluxe for $499 last month, maybe they will have it on sale again soon -

I don't see the 8 man on there website for that price, unless you got a promo email or something -
I was watching the news, and it said United Airlines increased their Compensation Cap from $1150 to $9950 because of all this. Lots of people said they wouldn't give up there seat for $10k, I suppose if the situation justifies it then most people can't be bought, example of plane flight to see family for Christmas or something along those lines, you never know until your in that situation, but $10k is a lot of money... They also said that United put out a job ad look for a new experienced PR person ... ha ha

New to archery and i got a hand me down bow to try out, to see if i like the whole idea of it. Eventually i will buy a bow that fits me perfectly, the problem i have is with the bow maxed out it still feels a tad to short, this might be a dumb question, but are there any tricks to increasing the draw length by half an inch? I imagine increasing the d-loop will increase my draw length, but will have any adverse effects on accuracy? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Increasing draw length...
ctracingraptor replied to ctracingraptor's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
It's a Bear BR33, max draw length is 32" and I'm measured at 32.5", really want to try and make this bow work before I commit to a Beast or Double XL -
Increasing draw length...

That's kinda what I was thinking also, maybe going to a release with an adjustable strap like a Carter quickie, something with a lot more adjustment -

I understand how all of that works, but the bow is already at max adjustment for draw length, I was just curious if there was a way to cheat an extra half and inch to see how it feels?
