So i'm still very new to reloading. I've had some very good success on reloading my AR-15 & AR-10, in .223 and .308. I'm ready to start reloading my 7mm Sendero, and i've seem to have hit a wall like everyone else. I'm been using Varget and BLC-2 and now i need to switch to a magnum powder and its seems to be like finding a unicorn. After a ton of research on here and other websites, it seems to be the mostly popular powders are RL-22, H1000 & Retumbo. Any opinions on which if those would be best, or should i just start with whichever powder i can get my hands on? Second question, i have the regular dies for my other guns for reloading, I dont know if i should invest in higher end dies for my 7mm. I've heard great reviews about the Redding Competition Dies set but for $230 is it really worth is? Should i consider buying only the Redding Competition seating dies for $100. I guess my question is, is it really worth spending the extra money for the competition grade stuff? Do i really need to spend the extra money for the Competition Neck Sizer? There is a die set on Midway that has peaked my interest but im not sure? I do like the options for the adjustable mircometers on the comp dies, but i just really never had a need for it on my other reloading dies. Yeah that's kinda the direction I'm going to head, i do like that Redding has the Master Hunter die set, you get the competition seating die, and the full length sizing die. I think thats the route im going to end up going.

Using a Dillion 550b, have all the basic tools, and the more advanced stuff, i didnt skimp on my products. I do love to target shoot at 1000 yards, im not comfortable yet at that distance. Very happy though at 700 yards with higher end factory ammo. My rifle is mostly used for deer and elk when i get drawn.

Ill be 2nd in line for the rl22 if the deal falls through

yeah my sendero has 26" barrel, and its 9 1/4th twist. not sure what weight bullet yet. But yeah i naturally want it to be the most accurate it can be, but if the best accuracy can be found in the dies that 3 times more than others, i would consider that option. I already have the bullet comparator from Hornady.

From Hornady file on the ELD Simply reducing the muzzle velocity of a projectile in a ‘standard’ twist rate barrel is not adequate for low speed impact testing. The resulting bullet spin rate and stability would be much lower than actually occurs and would not provide accurate projectile dynamics or terminal performance. Hornady used test barrels with fast twist rates, matched to actual impact velocities and spin rates calculated by the PRODAS computer code that provided the correct bullet impact and rotational velocities corresponding to the extended range impact velocities. All test barrel terminal performance results were confirmed with conventional tests at exact distances with standard barrels.

New to reloading, and my cousin and I are testing some loads and shooting from a .308 out of a 20" barrel DPMS AR-10. It's sub moa with premium ammo. I'm having a little pattern spread issues with reloads, and was curious if someone had a place to start from or a preferred powder or a solid setup. My pattern is consistently around 3-4 inches. I've been slowing working the charges up and the FPS spread is pretty consistent. Any issues with BLC-2 or spherical powder that I am missing, or should I try something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Currenty Setup 168grain SMK (very little or no crimp) 308 Nosler brass(factory trimmed) BLC-2 43grain Sellior & Bellot primers COAL--2.800"
