Something is wrong with the draw this year.
Red Rabbit replied to Dbllung's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Mike, I have not heard of getting a second LP, just the one for 5+ years of aplying annually for a species. -
Down at the little pond in the meadow of Kachina Village, these two buffleheads kept their distance and were a little too far out and moving to capture good feather detail before taking to the air. The warm days have melted plenty of snow made the meadow in to a shallow pond of slowly moving water which has attracted plenty of mallards, coots, and a few goldeneye and bufflehead.

The recent trip to Monument Valley included an overnight side trip to Desert View to catch the sunset and sunrise. Recent winds put some dust in the air, which made the cross-canyon views hazy, but put some color into the western horizon due to the scattering of the light. Twice a year, the evening shadow of the West Mitten falls across the face of the East Mitten. With this event and clear skies forecast, Rica and I headed north to Monument Valley. Also timed with this was the rising of the full moon, so hopes were to see something special. The scenic loop road within the Monument Valley Tribal Park opens after sunrise and closes before sunset, so the interesting light upon the Mittens was limited to being viewed from the campground area. Sunday Sunset and the Mitten Shadow. After the sunset with East and West Mittens, and Merrick Butte with a full moon rising. Merrick Butte under the snag. Monday morning sunrise as viewed from the campground Doug~RR

Keven, HBD!

The drive through Monument Valley is limited to daylight hours. The road does not open until after sunrise and closes at 5pm during winter hours, so getting the special light at sunrise or sunset is difficult without a "guide" Here are a few anyway. Is your group applying for an early rifle bull hunt?
-
Looks like a great opportunity/reason to buy a new elk rifle.
-
Way to go RR, I wondered how many people would see those new late october hunts, Hope it was like last year and you can catch the tail end of the rut. I had an October rifle cow tag about 4 years ago and the bulls were still vocal. I figure the cows that were not bred will be in second estrus about the time of this October bull hunt, and it will be a fun hunt for 4 days (or less ). Doug~RR

17 pages? You need to change your preferences so there are more posts on each page and thus fewer pages for easier viewing of this nothingness.

I am sure AZGFD likes to post the results as soon as they are ready, loaded and rechecked, rather that choosing a safe later date like April 19 and sitting on the results till then. Other states like WY that post certain dates months in advance before the apps are due surely don't finalize and load the results on that day ,but have the results well in advance of that posted day.

I'm Looking for a Wench.....Haha for my truck!
Red Rabbit replied to buckfever10's topic in Classified Ads
And if it's a good shiny wench and you show it off for all to see, some one is likely to steal it. So, find a capable wench without all the showy bling that will be reliable and be around for years. -
I just looked outside and it's snowing again.

The Litlle Colorado River is up to about 1000 cfs, so that means that Grand Falls north of Leupp on the Navajo Rez is a spectacle. This Sunday afternoon, there were quite a few people taking in the sight that only occurs a few times a year with enough spring snowmelt or summer monsoon downpour. Doug~RR

Red Rabbit replied to buckfever10's topic in Classified Ads
I think all "wenches" are used in some degree or fashion. The difficult part will be finding a used wench that still has some natural lustre and shine, and is cheap as most wenches have a high associated cost. -
Yesterday there were 3000 views of this thread. Today, 6000. Who's anxious???

The carpet of poppies looks lush. I like the photo best with snowy Turnbull in the background.

IIRC, the BPs have not been updated until after the draw results have been posted.

The LCR is still flowing well, about 975 cfs near Winslow and has come up the last 2 days. Should be a good weekend again to go there and see the falls. The falls face west, so the afternoon is best.

A Wee Little Change in Our Country
Red Rabbit replied to Rembrant's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Just trying to figure out now how to make less than $10k and claim indigency, since Ann Kirkpatrick didn't listen to my voting recommendation. I think several states have already filed suits based on states rights.
