I will be going down to 6A to help some friends this weekend. Their reports are that bucks are real scarce. Hoping that a 30 cal bullet gets launched today though. RR

High Country, iirc, had a carbon riser several years ago. It too had a higher $ticker $hock at the time. I believe it was $ for what today's regular bows are now costing.

Phil, Hope you havea good meal with good friends and family this evening. Doug

Still available. I believe they are almost $2800 new.

The other guy may not even be able to hunt till Saturday. Maybe you'll meet him and make a friend from the situation.

The Paria and Vermillion Cliff in northern Arizona was the weekend destination for three of us photographers, Matt, Shane and myself. We were trying to draw a permit to go to the Wave in North Coyote Buttes, but there were up to 114 people applying in the draw. Unable to beat the odds, we spent a couple of days in the southeast Cottonwood Teepees section of South Coyote Buttes. Here is a sampling of the scenery with some quickly edited photos. Sunday morning, Shane took off to Utah, and Matt and I ventured to White Pockets for a few hours. There are a lot of scenic areas to explore along the Arizona-Utah border, so more weekend jaunts are to be had. Doug~RR

I hunted 34A on a Dec hunt a couple of years ago and did not glass up an IA, or even see much trash. Nothing noted on several scouting trips either.

I dropped by last year to meet some CWTers, but all I got was strange looks from strangers and a warm beer. Go figure I was off by a year. -
Kimber 8400 French Walnut 300 WSM 3 position safety Serial KW02xxx Rings and bases, reloading data/targets included $900 shipped. Rifle has been recrowned. I have not rebedded it. Stock has received 6 coats of Pro-Custom Oil (Tung oil/urethane blend) to seal it. Was rubbed with 0000 steel wool between coats. Checkering is still a bit shiny. Magazine holds 3. First round does not feed smoothly; looks like right feed rail could use polishing. Round count is about 700. Targets shown are of the better handloads I have worked up. Otherwise, it seems to be a 1.5-2 moa shooter for good loads. 165 Hornady Interbonds went about 1.5 moa for 5 rounds. It did not like the Nosler E-tips. Federal Fusion factory 150 & 180 ammo averaged about 1.3 moa. Some handloads were over 3 moa. 150 TSX handload (most accurate I have found for this rifle) 180 Scirocco handload 180 Accubond Federal Factory ammo Doug~RR

Yep, what Jim said.

Some more. Seems amazing how the different colored minerals get separated distinctly and layered evenly, and then the sedimentary layers become so convoluted just a short distance away. Doug~RR

The leaves of the top tree are really vibrant. One might not want to rake the yard with all of those covering the ground.

Nice photo with Dillon! The mount will be cool also.

Lark, I have the RCBS Chargemaster, which has better reviews than the others. Its push-pad control panel quit a year ago after about 2 years, but their customer service exchanged it for a new unit, no charge. I timed it to measure 60 gr of 4831 a few days ago and it averaged about 45 seconds for each charge. Seems to be within 0.1 gr if the charge is weighed on a balance after dispensed. Doug~RR -

Muzzle Velocity? What Bullet? What distance is he sighted in at?
-
Meyers, I sent you a PM
-
Where have you been scouting? What time of day have you been glassing?
-
Good post BowFly with some good advice on how the develop their interest and not turn them off.

It still goes on via PMs, emails and phone calls. Sent a "friendly" PM this evening. Was the recipient of friendly help for 34A two years ago and still this year. The world ain't in "that" handbasket yet Seems one is often more willing to help out a beginning hunter also.

Larry, I guess scouting between the last Nov hunt and your Dec hunt will reveal if he is still around. You could scout/camp on him during the other hunts and see if other hunters are in the area and listen for booms. Check your bumper for GPS transponders. Doug~RR
