308Nut, I think you have it covered. RR

Jason, That Outdoorsman Pack looks like a nice setup. http://shop.outdoorsmans.com/product.sc;js...p;productId=299 I like that it does not stick way up high above the shoulders to snag stuff. Doug~RR

In addition to the Cabelas frames: Kifaru LongHunter Hauler http://kifaru.net/longhunter_hauler.html Mystery Ranch NICE Frame and Load Sling http://www.mysteryranch.com/packs/54/nice-frame.html http://www.mysteryranch.com/packs/108/load-sling.html Granite Gear Stratus Flatbed http://www.granitegear.com/products/backpa...tusflatbed.html Barney's Carnivor Freighter Frame by Barneys Sport Chalet in Alaska (said to be sturdier than the Cabelas version) http://outdoorsdirectory.com/products/barneys.htm http://www.barneyssports.com/ Kelty Cache Hauler Frame http://www.kelty.com/kelty/products.php?te...rame&id=105 When I was using a Cabelas/Camp Trails frame, I found it too tall and the top of the frame would snag overhanging limbs frequently. It also squeeked. With an external frame, carrying a slinged rifle is more difficult. I would suggest the Kifaru Gun Bearer. I also frees both hands so one does not have to hold the rifle sling constantly. http://kifaru.net/gunbearer_hunt.html

Pretty pictures

A short drive was made up Hart Prairie Road to the west of the San Francisco Peaks to catch the sunset. The clouds did not allow the evening light to bathe the peaks. Another night. To the west was the better view of the translucent storm clouds and some showers towards Kendrick Peak. Doug~RR -
Jim, Good looking pups.

Jim, So this cam was unlocked? Did your friend see human footprints where it was? Could a bear have ripped it off ? Doug~RR

antelope problem, any advice? :)
Red Rabbit replied to tomgobbler's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Be there to scout a few days before the season to see if they are still around or have moved for the rut, or if an archer or muzz hunter took him. Pattern the first one to see his escape route- if another hunter buggers him, you can be there to greet the buck. -
The Where to Hunt section on AZGFD is not too specific. Best info seems to be about access. http://www.azgfd.gov/h_f/hunting_units_36a.shtml There is usually a junior camp off the Aravaca Road. That would be a great place to get help and meet people during the hunt. You should be able to find some info on the AZ Deer Assoc website later. http://www.azdeer.org/youth_camp_main.htm You might want to send a PM to Stanley about the youth hunts in 36A, as he has some experience there. I just talked to him about this. Good luck and have a great hunt with your boy! Doug~RR

Left Over Tags "WOW" Lots left!!!
Red Rabbit replied to SO I HUNT's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
If they receive it in the mail on the Friday or before, it will not be considered. -
I purchased one of the Coleman extremes. The inside walls are not vertical, but angle. I prefer a vertical wall, but it may not make a difference to others.

Here is the leftover list http://www.azgfd.gov/eservices/documents/2...eList090724.pdf -
After looking at the photos, looks like you and your buds might need to take some rock climbing classes and invest in some ropes, harnesses and gear. Good luck on a challenging hunt.

There will be great eating afterwards. Enjoy the hunt! Doug~RR

No December Coues or Bighorn for me.

Doug, Since every minute for the next week has been guessed as the draw result posting time, maybe there should be a guess as to when will be the first e-scouter thread by a person on his first post? RR

You just need to take a couple of TUMS and you will feel better

Could put a hard/dense foam spacer-plug in the end of your 40" case.

Beautiful expanse to be working in. Will you have any time off at the end of the job to enjoy the territory? RR

Happy Birthday Tim. With all the rain you have been getting, those speedgoats should stand out well against the green. Hope you fine the one you want. Doug~RR

Welcome! That peccary must have been hard to pick out in that rock field behind you in the pic. Good luck on the deer draw- hope you hear good things on Friday. Any pics of your bird dog? Doug~RR

Pretty cool. Hopefully Maty knows that there will likely be one more antelope near the cabin now. Doug~RR
