Amanda, How did your new pack work out on the backpack part of the hunt? (ie size, support, comfort, adjustability) I don't think the short walk to the back porch for bacon and eggs would be a real test Doug~RR

6A Turkey (first season) and 21 general Javelina.

These 4 bulls were standing 80 yards down the street in front of the house early Friday morning. A neighbor said they were right in my back yard at 6AM earlier in the week. I have heard there are 11 bulls so far around Kachina and Forest Highlands. Doug~RR

I have loaded the 150 and 168 TSX for my 300. Have found that velocites and charges are close to a regular jacketed bullet. Unlike the original X, the grooves on the TSX reduce bearing surface and fouling. You should be able to start with normal starting charges and work up. I have found the Montana Extreme 50BMG/Copper Killer to be real good at removing both powder and copper fouling. It has good reports on 6mmBR.com As Casey said, remove all copper before testing the TSX, and also if going back to regular coppper guilding jacketed bullets. Shot maybe 5 tsx foulers. Accuracy with the TSX has been very good in my rifle. In fact, the 150 TSX is the most accurate bullet in my Kimber 300 WSM.

I have been printing off the areas I am interested in using the National Geographic Topo program. Prior to that I bought all the 7.5 minute maps to cover the unit. Since there is some BLM land, you might check with that office.

Amanda, These were with the Panasonic FZ20 that I had in the car. When I walked back down to the end of the street with the new camera, they were too far away in someone's back yard. Doug~RR

Carl, Must have been good to share a time on a hunt with your Dad. Congrats to him on his buck. Were you at the family campsite? Doug~RR

You might use the first circle and zero at 200 yards, instead of zeroing at 100 yards with the crosshair. This might make the 300 yard second aiming circle closer to point of impact. You will likely be a little off, but not as much as now. Remember, these BDC scopes are a best fit, and not a perfect match.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/elec...rez-money_N.htm So much for that Western Classic in my future. Why would a gun manufacturer support the most anti 2nd Amendment, anti gun owner presidential candidate ever? Shades of S&W.

http://www.cooperfirearms.com/ The front page is saying that he's is being asked to resign. Will he fight it? Will he be active in a lesser position? How much stake does he have inthe company and is it a controlling interest? Just thinking. -
30-06 long vs short range shooting.
Red Rabbit replied to liviustoica's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Lark, That 150BT from the 06 will drop that 35" and 296" at 500 and 1000 yards, as we read on the table. Clay, the 113 clicks would be the correction for 1000 yards. But the 28 1/4" would be the elevation you added at 100 yards. Multiply by 10 to get at 1000 yards- about 282.5" drop corrected for. I don't think we can get a bullet with a high enough BC to go fast enough to only drop 30" at 1000 yards. RR -
http://www.land.state.az.us/programs/natur...rmitFaqs.htm#Q3 Looks like the hunting license only allows you to actively hunt and shoot legal animals. You need a rec permit to scout, camp, hike etc.

looks like it might be a 2x3. Maybe even a very small g3 on the left. Can't really tell; I think my computer monitor was made by Barska -

Hooked, Selling what you already have would not impact Cooper. Kinda like closing the barn doors after the horses have already escaped. It would be the purchase of a NEW Cooper that might be boycotted. -

Hooked, Check his donations as researched on this thread. Even $1000 to Obama in 2004. Nothing donated to McCain is shown. http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/u.../gonew/1#UNREAD -
Hope you get to stress test that moose bag. Knock em dead--- literally RR

Welcome! Congrats on your first Coues, a dandy for sure. Could you describe the wound channel of the VLD? Doug~RR

Bill, You are lucky to spend the summer in that piece of heaven called Greer. Seems like winter is coming to the doorstep, as few aspen leaves remain and the elk bugles have subsided. Maybe that trout will be 24" when I catch him again next fall Doug~RR

Congrats to you Karly on your first elk. Sounds like you had a great hunt, and had your kids involved sharing the experience. Looks like they enjoyed it a bunch also. Ron, Thanks for taking the time to post a long and good tale of thehunt. I know the effort is a lot more than a one-liner. Looks like you have some new hunting partners for the years to come. Doug~RR
