Leupold VX1 2-7x33mm LR Duplex I mounted this on a 17HMR, sighted it in, but decided to go with a different scope with PA. Has been to range only twice, but not hunted with. Glass is perfect. Slight ring marks. $190 shipped. USPS MO preferred, or f2f cash

Yah, kinda got lost out there for a few days ;-)

Earlier in April, I had the opportunity to travel to some remote spots in northern Arizona with some landscape photographer friends. The white lines of the Moenave sandstone made for nice patterns in the eroded formations. We then descended into the bowels of the earth.

Looks like a relaxing spot. As they say, it is better to be lost in the woods, than found at home.

Does anyone have any experience with these copper bullets? They look like an option to try in my 6.5 WSM and 28 Nosler. https://www.badlandsprecision.com/category/2/bulldozer

I have a couple of these. The frosted gives a warmer more pleasing light than the clear version. No batteries to replace. Good for in a tent or camper.

Heads up that SWFA is having their tax day sale including some good prices on their SS scopes. I know many like the SS turrets, tracking, ffp and MQ reticle. https://swfa.com/optics.html?brand=SWFA%20SS&promotions=2018%20Tax%20Day%20Sale

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to visit Death Valley National Park for a week of photography with a couple of friends. I had never been there before, so the dunes, badlands, salt playas and mud cracks were a new treat. High winds of 30-60 mph made shooting difficult some days, but at least I have an excuse to return in calmer conditions to reshoot the blurred images ;-) Here is a link to a gallery of images from this trip. Thanks for taking a look. http://www.plateaulightphotography.com/Landscapes/California-Landscapes/Death-Valley-National-Park/

I do not know how much shooting your wife will do. If not a lot, then perhaps a BDC scope will be more appropriate as it would make easy work of shots to 400 yards. The Tract Torics reportedly track well too if she will also dial, and they come with a turret kit. I currently have this scope in my 28 Nosler. https://www.tractoptics.com/products/riflescopes/toric-3-15x42-bdc

Yes. It was that 30% difference in recoil that got my attention that makes the 6.5 Creedmoor appealing to me with the apples to apples SD bullet comparison. Reminds me of when Carmichael was touting the 260 Rem as equal to the 270 Win. It is nice that the .277 bullets are finally getting some BC love though. I do wonder when a major rifle manufacturer will chamber the 6.5 PRC as it sits nicely between the 6.5 Creedmoor and 26 Nosler

A 130 hunting VLD out of the 6.5CM at 2850fps will have a better G7 BC of 0.288 vs 0.258 for the 140 VLD .277 (comparing equal sectional densities for apple to apples) Slightly better ballistics and about 30% less recoil than the .270Win of equal rifle weights. Put that 130 VLD in a 6.5 PRC for "more better" ballistics ;-)

.284 for the caliber choice. What chambering would be another question.
