Came across this website that shows the performance of various bullets on game. Figured some of this info may be of interest in choosing bullets or ammo. https://www.ballisticstudies.com/Knowledgebase.html click on "wound research" on the 2nd header

Just remember to be on highest power when you pull the trigger, if you're using the hashes below the center cross. The perils of second focal plane and BDC reticles.

Several years ago, the thought of moving crossed the mind. For hunting, trout fishing, kayaking and bike riding, Durango and Montrose CO were prime considerations for a smaller town. Since you may need a major airport, maybe a suburb of Denver?

Yep, a very good year for y'all. Those cartridges look sizeable. What are you shooting?

Coues newbie looking for some help
Red Rabbit replied to wyodeer's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
There are the Walnut Canyon and Montezuma Castle national monuments near Flag. of course there is Mesa Verde Nat Park near Cortez CO on your drive down. You can hike down into Navajo Nat Monument near Kayenta. There are small ruins tucked in the side canyons west of Sedona. -
PA is for the parallax adjustment, as seen with the knob on the left side of the tube with the caps removed in the bottom photo. The crosshairs are fine, and second focal plane.

I liked using the 70-300 for medium telephoto work. The image quality of both the Nikon and Tamron were real close. The Tamron seemed to have just a little more contrast

If BC was the same would you use solid copper bullet over lead core
Red Rabbit replied to apache12's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
One bullet that has my attention is the Federal Edge TLR. Its construction is like the Trophy Bonded Tipped with the polymer tip, solid base, bonded core and but with higher BC. It is shown on page 78 of their 2018 catalog to be available as a component bullet in 270, 7mm, 30cal. The 155gr could be nice for my 28 Nosler when they hit the shelves. it could be a do-all bullet for coues to elk. Some factory loads are out for for 300WSM, 30-06, 308, 300WM. http://federalpremium.com/downloads/catalog/Federal_Premium_Catalog_2018.pdf -
