You might call Doug at CameraLand and see what he can do for you. CLNY is a sponsor here.

Mulepackhunter, the Barnes TSX and TTSX are solid copper. Hornady GMX and Nosler e-tips are copper gilding metal. They do not create as wide a wound channel, but do penetrate deeper and have close to 100% weight retention.

No, just suggested due to the condors

Lance, quite the difference between factory ammo and your 180 Hybrid handload not even tailored for the rifle.

Newbie Rifle Choices
Red Rabbit replied to duckhunter175's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
With the budget, maybe a Tikka T3 (cheaper than newer T3x) or Ruger American in 6.5 Creedmoor. Scope with a Ballistic Plex like Leupold w Boone and Crocket reticle, Vortex. -
AZNative, what was the internal wound channel like between the entrance and exit holes?

It's official . . . . . "Not Drawn"

Long range shooters & 6.5 guru's - your opinion
Red Rabbit replied to azslim's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
The 26 Nosler looks inviting for a factory long action chambering. I have a 6.5 WSM for my Coues hunting. I suppose the 6.5 SAUM/GAP would be a good short action consideration too. I had a 264WM once, but I traded it in as it did not shoot well. For the 264WM, powders like Ramshot Magnum, H1000, RL 26 should be good. -
Doug, I too was using PB. Kind of bent about the whole thing too. What are you using now? DC, I am still using PB. I had heard that those with paid accounts will be able to use PB until sometime in 2018 before having to upgrade. Also, imgur has been suggested as a free alternative.

7mm-08 vs 6.5 creedmoor
Red Rabbit replied to bonecollector777's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
The ballistics between the 143 eldx for 6.5 Creedmoor and the 150 eldx for 7mm-08 are really really close to each other for velocity, drop, energy. http://www.hornady.com/store/7mm-08-Rem-150-gr-ELD-X-Precision-Hunter/ http://www.hornady.com/store/6.5-Creedmoor-143-gr-ELD-X-Precision-Hunter/ I do not see the 6.5 Creedmoor as a fad and think is will be around a while. The variety of factory ammo keeps increasing. There are plenty of factory choices with good hunting bullets for both chamberings. If you are building, you can have a good barrel with the proper twist. I do not think whatever you choose to float your boat will be the wrong answer. -
Congrats on the tags. I sent you a PM.

Or these LRAB: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1018218517/winchester-expedition-big-game-long-range-ammunition-65-creedmoor-142-grain-nosler-accubond-lr-case-of-200-10-boxes-of-20

I would try that Norma load with the 130 Scirocco and see if your rifle likes it. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/914211/norma-usa-american-ph-ammunition-65-creedmoor-130-grain-swift-scirocco-ii-box-of-20 The Hornady 143 eldx shoots well in my 6.5 Creedmoor

Lifelong friend and I had tags in December 1991. This is the best Coues either of us has killed to date.

I went to southwest Colorado for OTC elk about 20 years ago. Hiked in 2 miles into a wilderness area. There was an orange blob everywhere you looked come opening morning. I came home halfway through the season in frustration.

G&F pitched a no-hitter for deer, antelope, elk, turkey and sheep this year. So when does that leftover list come out?

Upper and Lower Antelope canyon near Page Arizona have gotten too crowded. When I first went to Lower antelope, i think I saw 6 other people. Now, they must herd many hundreds through each day. So, back in May I ventured to another slot canyon for a few hours of more peaceful photography.

Coach, you have been to some nice slots. My ability to go to slots was virtually eliminated with Rica, but I will gladly accept that trade-off. Cody-thanks.

Has anyone used one of the Helinox chairs for glassing? Pros? Cons? This model is only 1 pound. http://www.campsaver.com/helinox-chair-zero?utm_source=website&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=vs_hp_helinox_june

Helinox Chair for Glassing?
Red Rabbit replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Scott, I suppose it is still more comfortable glassing than a foam pad, even if you cannot lean back in the chair while eyes are in the binos. Have you tried a black eyepatch for use with the spotter? -
Helinox Chair for Glassing?

May be good on a slope, but it may provide faceplant entertainment after a beer around the campfire??
