Flagstaff currently has its second snowiest winter on record and the latest storm brought 30" to the house. I made my way down to Sedona before the storm and before the highways were closed. Ten inches of white goodness fell upon the red rocks. This trip was also the maiden voyage for a new Fuji GFX 100s and 45-100mm lens. I made the decision to go medium format with 102MP so printing large metal prints 60-90" would be less of a task.

yep, the northland is looking white this winter. Flagstaff has its #2 highest amount on record through March 1

I was looking at my application receipt from Cybersource. It was dated 9-2-2023. Guess they need their flux capacitor recalibrated.

Consider if you are going to glass while standing up or just sitting down. If standing, you will probably want a tripod that is tall enough without using the center column as the extended center column allows a lot of vibration.

Great chambering based on my personal experience. If anyone is looking for Bertram brass, its coming soon. https://bertrambrass.com/shop-1/ols/products/65-wsm-winchester-short-magnum Bump and good luck with the sale.

After the talk of best spotter, bino, rifle, etc., what are the little things that make your day out in the field more enjoyable? One item that have been attached to my binocular eyepieces over the years has been the Field Optics Research EyeShield. It cuts out the light from the side and makes glassing more enjoyable/less straining. They are very flexible and fit in a bino harness well. https://www.amazon.com/Field-Optics-Research-Standard-EyeShield/dp/B00A45ILC0/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2SI9JB5931KJI&keywords=Field+Optics+Research+Standard+Size+EyeShield&qid=1671029591&sprefix=field+optics+research+standard+size+eyeshield%2Caps%2C531&sr=8-1

These should not last long. Wish I had a 6.5 PRC. GLWS. Bump.

With the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth in a handful of days, what is the Christmas song that brings you the most Holyday spirit? My favorite Christmas song is "Mary, Did You Know?". I just came across this instrumental version by dobro player Jerry Douglas, which I enjoyed along with Kathy Mattea's fine rendition.

This folding Buck would be nice. Good steel. Orange so can be seen on the ground when laid down. Drop point which I prefer over the clip point of the 110. https://www.buckknives.com/product/661-pursuit-pro-small-folding-knife/0661ORS-B/

I hope they are returned. Have you posted in any of the various Facebook hunting groups?

A good review of the new Swarovski STC compact spotting scope was linked on another hunting site. It directly compares hands-on the STC to the Kowa 554 and the larger Swaro and Kowa spotting scopes.

It is difficult to say "no" to the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. Seems that each year, Utah and the eastern Sierras make voices heard, but Colorado shouts louder. So again, I pointed the truck northeast from Flagstaff and spent the first week of October around Durango, Ouray and Telluride. The aspen colors seemed to be a week behind the usual time frame, perhaps due to the rainfall and warmer temperatures. Still, pockets of color could be found to oggle the eyes and point the lens at. Here is a link to the gallery of Colorado fall images for your perusal. https://www.plateaulightphotography.com/New-Work/Colorado-Fall-2022/

I seem to recall a post somewhere that AZGFD was going to be doing some helicopter game surveys. I do not recall the unit or days. (crs afflicted)
