AZMAN, what were their first and second choices? Did they have any BP from hunter ed or 5-year loyalty? Absolutely zero BP?

As Flatlander implied, best to visit the nearest G&F regional office Monday morning as the mail and processing would occur after that.

The bonus point reports for the 2012 deer, sheep, buffalo hunts are posted on the AZGFD website. Tis good to see that NR friend and I may have a chance to draw a December WT tag next year. http://www.azgfd.gov/eservices/BonusPointProcess.shtml

What does the P&Y book list? Maybe this is Moss' source of info. Likely that there are bigger bucks that are not entered into the book.

Looks like a good way for him to learn colors too by separating the whites from the colors...unless you like pink undies .

I have the 701 HDV with the Claw. It seems stout enough and the larger plate is more secure in the head than with the 700rc2.

Not Drawn (put in for Dec hunt only).

I hope so Brian. Then maybe all this tiresome whining and bitching will end. -

Late July is a nice time to be in southwest Colorado enjoying the mountain passes, 4wd roads and summer flowers. The best flowers that I found this year were in Porphyry Basin near Silverton. The view was not too bad either I have added a gallery of other images from Porphyry Basin for y'all to enjoy. http://www.plateaulightphotography.com/Landscapes/coloradolandscapes/Porphyry-Basin-July-2012/24299568_3tq6zd#!i=1978982269&k=LWk8spv

How is the cell phone service at Big Lake? I have Verizon and am thinking of a working vacation.

In response to the thread "Telephoto Lens Options" by AntlerObsession , I ran a simple comparison to show how big an animal (a Montana cow elk decoy in this test) will appear at various distances from 100 to 800 yards. The lens was approximately a 630mm equivalent on a full frame camera body, as I used my Nikon D90, 300mm lens, and 1.4xTC teleconverter. (300mm)(1.4xTC)(1.5 Nikon crop sensor factor) = 630mm This would be like a 400mm lens on a Canon T3i (400mm)(1.6x crop factor)=640mm Below @ 800 yards Below @ 600 yards Below @ 400 yards Below @ 200 yards Below @100 yards

Telephoto Lens Options

See the thread in this forum titled "What SIze Lens?" -
TJ, no sheep were seen, and surprisingly no elk either. But then i was looking for flowers and not too hard for elk.

Do you lose your bonus points when you pick up left over tags?
Red Rabbit replied to SDHunter11's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
One does not gain a BP either if applying for a leftover and not "drawing" one. -
Based on last year's 20% bonus pass report, 7 BP should give you a good chance to being looked at. One possibility would be if the 10% NR cap was met before your number came up. Unfortunately, AZGFD does not publish when,at what BP level, the NR cap is met. People with more than 7 BP may have switched over to 12E in their hunt choice, also. I would wait until the draw reults are posted online next week.

David, I use thin wicking liner socks and Smartwool socks. I had a pair of boots once that required the use of molefoam on the heels to prevent blisters. Your problem may be the boot fit rather than the socks. Doug

Deer Draw: What was everyone's first and second choice?
Red Rabbit replied to reganranch's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Only one choice, for December WT. We may need a few more BP to draw though, considering the NR cap. -
While in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado last week, Rica my GWP located a covey of ptarmigan while I was readying my camera gear for some landscapes, Needless to say, the lens was switched and the "hunt" was on. We were able to get within 10 yards of most birds before they walked further away. It was difficult keeping Rica at heal when her quarry was so close. Nikon D90, Nikon 300 f/4, 1.4x TC, tripod.
