Good things happen to good people. When is surgery scheduled?

If you have the late December tag which starts Dec 9, the week after Christmas will be best. Still hunt as much as the season as you can though. The nice thing about 36C is that one can get to the base of the mountain but has to hike in from there, which eliminates a road hunter mentality. Consider a bivy camp to reduce in/out hiking time. The access points and the mile posts for the roads are given on the G&F website. http://www.azgfd.gov/h_f/hunting_units_36c.shtml Study hard for finals.

Kachina did not receive much last night- less than an inch. Here are a couple more webcams to look at for the Grand Canyon and SF Peaks. http://www.nps.gov/grca/photosmultimedia/webcams.htm This Sedona webcam is benign at times http://www.earthcam.com/usa/arizona/sedona/ Christopher Creek (I like NOAA as one can move the red aimspot on the map to get spot forecasts if not for a known city or location) http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=34.3375729&lon=-111.0420123&site=all&smap=1&searchresult=Christopher%20Creek%2C%20Arizona%2C%20USA

If you don't reload, then the 300WSM. Either will work on deer and elk.

Just south of Flag, I have 4" right now. Forecast is for 10-15" in the next 36 hours. I was just thinking that the rifle cow hunters will have good tracking snow. Don't forget your chains, shovels, tow straps- just in case that FJ got accustomed to the desert

He should be tasty Nice rack too

Yes. The Manfrotto 701HDV is a good head to use as the plate does not wiggle in the head (I found that the plate of the lighter 700RC2 is not secure enough). Also, remove the rubber strips on the plate and JBweld/epoxy the plate to the Claw. The tripod should have stiff legs.

You can look at the bonus point reports and find out for each hunt number. http://www.azgfd.gov/eservices/documents/Spring-BonusPointReport-1-2PassbyHuntNumber.pdf I think I had 4 BP when I drew a Goulds tag 2 years ago. The applications for these tags may be increasing each year.

My big game hunts were a bust, but the birds have been AWESOME!!

With a good looking dog like that, good hunting is certainly guaranteed -

I like the emotion you have added into the writing. Congrats also on your hunt success with a nice coues. -
Thank you Lord for the blessings we have received.

If you need a place to see this weekend and are not lucky to be hunting coues or elk, the trees along Oak Creek near Sedona are still changing. There are some nice creekside colors from Slide Rock, through Sedona, and down to Red Rock Crossing. A creekside hike may be a good place to use up the pumpkin pie calories. This picture was taken Sunday evening to give you an idea. Happy Thanksgiving to y'all.

interesting about the azgfd declination

The $7.50 was charged initially when one applied online.

I am thinking this is a possible reason for delayed results. So they run they draw, then charge the credit cards. But a card is no longer valid or has been maxed out. So do they contact the card holder, or look at the next undrawn person in line to issue the tag? The online draw results usually list a reject reason- credit card not valid?- so this must be added before publishing results- (justa guess).

How about BAYLOR? Sic em Bears!

Same here!!! Good seems like i'm not the only one Possibly they are not finished running the credit cards?

Javelina charge so far- only peccary hunt applied for was 6A HAM. No charges for turkey yet.

After numerous trips to Sedona in hopes of sunset clouds over Cathedral Rock, I finally got an image that I think will work. This was from last evening as the recent storm was clearing to the east. Previously, there have been blue bird skies, western clouds blocking the setting sun, and/or summertime swimmers in the pool. I think the trees will peak in color in about another week, so will venture again to another creekside spot .

Do guns reall "like" some ammo over others?
Red Rabbit replied to apache12's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
For factory ammo, I have noticed more consistent accuracy with the Federal Premium with Accubonds, Federal with the regular Hornady SP, and Fusion ammos. One could spend a fortune trying them all. -
I am sure some wanna-be taxidermist on meth can offer you a sweet deal

The Coconino National Forest has selected its Travel Management Plan. Here is a link to the plan, appeal process, and to maps of roads to be open and areas of off-road elk retrieval. http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/tmr.shtml
