Guess I should have my neighbor weld a tack across the top seams of our boxes to prevent prying. Still won't make them theft proof, but will slow one venue.

Brian, Seems you have been doing rather well with the bass there recently. Have you seen any bighorns coming to water or heard the clash of horns? Doug~RR

Thanks for the comments. Behind both antlers is an additional 1" horn. Guess it's a 4-horned antelope?

Mike111, did you draw another U9 permit?

Sorry Bill.

Have you tried Arizona Mountain Inn, or Mormon Lake Lodge/cabins?

If I had a computer like that, I would have gained a few pounds. The stuffed squash looks quite tasty.

Favorite Coues Deer Rifle.
Red Rabbit replied to DBArcher's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I'm still trying to find the right combo but right now I'm loading 140g JLK's, RL-17 powder, Federal 210 primers and Norma brass. I think I finally figured out why I couldn't get any real consistent grouping. I've made a few adjustments to the stock and took care of a possible carbon and copper fouling issue so I think I'm good to go now. Just have to get some more loads worked up and wait for a day that the wind is blowing like crazy up here to get some more range testing in. I really like the gun. It shoots very smooth, even with the adjustable break kept closed. Recoil is very minimal. Have you tried other powders besides RL-17? http://www.6mmbr.com/SixFive284.html -

From what I remember from the webcast, they said the Murphy Fire affected about 25% of the unit. I suspect the hunt will go on.

As Youngbuck mentioned and linked, I am shooting a 6.5 WSM Ballistics similar to the 264 Win Mag, nice BC of the 6.5mm bullets, and good selection of bullets to choose from. Less recoil than a comparable 30 cal. -

5th ANNUAL CWT MARSHALL LAKE GET TOGETHER
Red Rabbit replied to Lance's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Get-togethers!
I do not think they are chiggers, but very tiny biting gnats. They were really bad two years ago. A cortisone creme may help with the itching. -

It was an enjoyable camp with new and old faces, kids and dogs. TJ and Paul should have a bunch of photos. Lance and Carrie- thank you again. -
These Desert Guide boots look worthy for our coues hunting. http://www.kenetrek.com/prodinfo.asp?number=KE-420-DG

5th ANNUAL CWT MARSHALL LAKE GET TOGETHER
Red Rabbit replied to Lance's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Get-togethers!
It was a pleasant 45* this morning here in Flag. Time to beat feet out of the desert and enjoy the gathering at Marshall Lake. -
Quite a drastic difference. Escudilla will likely see a lot of erosion these next monsoon seasons, like the east side of San Francisco Peak did last year.
-
HBD. It may only last a day, but you have the next 364 days to practice for the next one.
