Archery deer hunt turns into a Bobcat hunt!
Swivelhead replied to lionhunter's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Good looking cat. Congrats! I've taken a few archery shots @ bobcats over the years while predator calling. Cats caught me drawing each time and jumped the string (big time) each time. +1 on the adrenaline dump -
I can see 335-340.

Not sure how to prevent bugs but had good luck bagging mounts with mothballs, killed the bugs. You will need to move the mounts outside due to odor issues. Kept the mounts bagged for a couple weeks.

Consider drawing the permit(s) then donating said permits to a worthwhile organization. Pointguard will allow you to donate twice if your financial condition will allow.

Getting back on topic: A shotgun that will do it all, i.e. waterfowl, turkey, coyote, dove, quail, grouse, chukar, etc. is going to be a compromise. There is no subsitute for a quick handling well fitted scattergun for flushing birds. Pass shooting birds or coyote, turkey, etc. generally does not require a quick mount so a heavier weapon can actually smooth out abberations of your form. In either case, a shotgun that fits YOU is paramount to hitting what you look at.

Have not been drawn since AZGF included cranes in the regular fall draw. Including cranes in the regular fall draw was the right thing to do IMO but sure would like to get drawn one of these years.
