Actually none of these Bulls is a 350. This was not meant to be a trick question, but rather reinforce the idea that a 350 bull is a BIG bull. 1) scores 338. This is boosted by the 17+ inch 'extra' point on the base of his left antler. Without that point, he is a 320 bull. 2) scores 325 3) scores 326 All scores are gross, and would drop quickly when looking at net scores. Several people were on top of this, but we sure could have passed any of these off as a 350 to many people. Regardless of score, each comes with great memories of a hunt with friends and family; that can never be measured with a tape. Also, each has fed the family. If I see any of these bulls breaking clear and turning broadside this September, in unit 1, there will be a broad head in the air! Thanks to those who made guesses, hopefully it was a fun way to kill some time while we wait for the season. But it was a trick. You set a "frame of reference". Looking at a photo is much different than observing a living bull. Being that you have a unit 1 tag I'd tell you to hold out for better than 330. Especially if you got some time.

Pine Donkey, I appreciate that you posted a test. I'll take a shot. Bull #1 - Appears to be a 6 X 7, is the highest grossing bull in the group. I'd guess 354" gross. Bull #2 - Nice bull, 342 gross Bull #3- Another very nice bull, 332.

Not sure if we spoke. I drive a big white Ford.

Any of my buddies ever shoot a white turkey, I'll guarantee they'll NEVER live it down. Should I shoot a white one, I'd expect the same.

I think scoring systems are best left as they are. No, I'm not a fan of air measurements but do agree spread looks good. I'm with Bill on trophy quality. "Trophy" ought to be directly related to the effort required to acquire said trophy.

Saw one on the Diamond Rock road 30 years ago. It was a white hen but not an albino (not as white as this one). Thx for posting.

Swarobright, Swarodur coatings?

Congrats on the tag. Good luck on the hunt.

Make sure you apply for hunt #'s that have NR tags available. You might want to check on RMBS in North Dakota, I think there are some.

Did you purchase a lifetime license when you were an AZ resident?

That is one rope draggin' beast! Congrats to your daughter.

#1 Yes, #2, 4 tags available, likely to max point holders in the 20% pass

Assuming you are going into the 2015 fall draw with 24 points. There are 28 rocky mtn sheep applicants left at the 26 point level. 65 at the 25 point level and you are part of a group of 52. These numbers are approximate. Bonus point report does not account for people not actively applying for hunts. These projections are based solely on last years active applications for RMBS. One could assume that most of these applicants have taken a desert ram. Ten of 17 RMBS tags went to max point holders in 2014. I'd say you'll be waiting 10-15 years to get in the max point pool. Your best bet is to put in for hunt #'s that make it out of the max point draw with permits available for the 1-2 pass. This is true for most of us

Got 23, should not have to wait too much longer.

This is sound advice. Optics are tools, each tool has it's use. Rather than spending $$$ on 15's, get a high end set of 10 X 42's, a good lightweight tripod & fluid head. You can add additional optics down the road. 10 X 42's are the default optic for the western hunter.

I've got 04' 15 X 56 SLC's and 13' Zeiss Conquest 15 X 56's. Optically, the Zeiss are slightly better. Ergonomically speaking, I prefer the SLC's. Ergonomics don't matter much when optics are mounted on a tripod. Spotters: 65mm would be a minimum objective size. I'd suggest 80mm if you plan on USING your scope at 40X or more.

Very unusual for a civil suit to result in jail time. Had to be contempt of court. Must of really upset the judge. My kind of judge.

Those of you hoping to draw a sheep tag who are at less than max points need to study the annual bonus point reports. Specifically, the 20% bonus pass. Unlike the other species, the 20% bonus pass comes off the top. Meaning that in some cases all the permits for a given hunt # are taken in the bonus pass by max point holders. This issue has been discussed previously on this forum. Basically, depending on your age and distance from max points, you'll likely die with your BP's trying to draw 22, 24A, etc. Again, study the annual BP reports.

Getting on the bad side of a judge is NEVER good.

What a horrible experience. Condolences to all involved.

Tough units but there is an occasional toad.

Thx for posting. Growth rings are easily seen on that ram which is not always the case. The darkened ring apparently indicates stress from rutting activity, so I'm told.

Well done!

Mocking a 70+ year old man with a chronic disease says a lot about you guys.
