The following spring AFTER their birth they will start growing antlers. Calves are born in the summer, so they are around a year old before they start growing. If an antlerless male was shot, it would indicate that he was born this summer. Probably only about 4-6 months old i would guess

I'm all in on this post -
Wow jackass l, listen a little bit before you go spouting yoir BS. Of course i have not used one, that would make my post invalid. It's a little more than "helping" a kid and you know it. You put ome of those those things on a HEAVY DUTY tripod and head and they are a dam robotic arm on the rifle and you know it. Another idiot trying to corner someone that has an opinion that differs from the majority. Do your research before starting the namecalling right off the bat.

i wear the vias. i like the way more "classic" patterns look. Verde resembles sitka and digital camo too much for my liking

how do you figure? if a kid can't make an ethical shot without the aid of one of those, it's time to get that kid back to the range until he is confident in making a good shot on an animal. I myself am a HUGE advocate of getting kids out there and hunting and i volunteer a lot of time to take kids on their first hunt and love every minute of it, but do not condone the use of those things. they are a tool for the lazy and unconfident.

This is gonna make people mad, but i wish they would outlaw the claw and similar products for hunting. people line the rifle up and lock it down where all the shooter (usually a little kid) has to do is touch the trigger. they don't even have to look through a scope. then they brag about how their kid made a perfect shot at X amount of yards.

i saw two a year before last on a unit one late bull hunt.

i've seen pics of one that has got to be pushing 420. big 7 on one side and real crazy looking on the other.

i've always used a short harris bipod. if the grass is too high to lay down, i make sure to get close enough where i feel dead steady shooting off my tripod or by throwing my backpack over a bush and shooting off that

A country where a repulsive POS like Dan Savage even has a voice is a country that is in trouble. That butt humper has never done a thing in his life, yet has a strong following and people treat him like a government official. S -
Man, that looks like a big ol' bear. Congrats

that'll probably bounce off of them -
man, the kids are getting it done this year. congrats to all

great buck, love those long G4's! congrats

that is a great tag, and you shouldn't struggle too hard to find deer. the santa teresa's are pretty remote without much access and would offer a great backpack hunt. get some big glass and learn how to use it. hunting for coues is generally finding a couple high vantage points that give you the ability to look at a lot of country and stay in the same place or two glassing all day long. they are very small animals and your average buck probably wouldn't weigh 100lbs live weight. get ready to find yourself addicted

I hope to give some terminal performance results on a 285 gn A-Max out of a 338 lapua here in a couple weeks. I cannot imagine a scenario where it won't prove to be effective -
Thank goodness. I have absolutely no use for it and almost had to buy it

How big is the his bear?
GreyGhost85 replied to Phil Carr's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Really, really fat. It's head doesn't look real big, but it's gotta weigh a lot. -
Will you take $600?

When those bulls are bugling late into the rut, they get really hoarse sounding. Imagine how you would sound if you just ran around and yelled at people all day for about 3-4 weeks. Probably not any kind of specific vocalization, just an old bull that has about lost his voice
