no. not even close. some people believe anything, i swear. Although, there are a couple species of deer that i believe are endemic to somewhere in Asia that do grow small tusks. i think one is a japanese water deer, another is a muntjac. they don't grow much for antlers, if any, so they have small tusks for self defense

Up until probably 15-20 years ago, if a buck's mainbeam length was greater than his spread, or vise-versa, it was a deduction.

that is one of the variables. the antlers would probably have to be sawed off below the burr

For years people have been bringing up a "water submersion test" for scoring. You fill a certain sized container with water, submerge the rack and however much the water rises would be the score. This test would account for every bump of bone that the animal grows. Seems like it would be a good system to me, but there would probably be too many variables. Your system does have interesting results, however

But then you have to shoot a weatherby. I own a 338 lapua. Something about squeezing the trigger on a 300 grain bullet really makes me smile. If you want a big 338 caliber, go for it. Don't let anyone push you away from it. -
I reeeaaalllyyy don't need it, but...someone hurry up and buy it please

I've never owned swaros in my life. Ask all the big animals on my wall if they knew the difference in swarovski and vortex....just sayin..... Get yourself a decent pair of 15X binos and teach yourself how to glass. Once your eyes crave something with better clarity, upgrade

murfy, you need to dust that poor old mount! i see bucks every January that would break 180". i honestly think OTC archery hunts can be some of your best bets to kill a true giant. you get to hunt great units in the absolute best times of the year

Your first purchase of an "expensive optic" should be binoculars, with a spotting scope being the last item on the list IMO. to answer your question, the 65mm would probably prove to be more effective

yes, it's a blown out 556. they did this so you can use standard ar magazines. kind of a turd as far as velocity, but a lot of people are starting to like them

^^^ man that bull is a TANK. he had to be close to that magical number when he was all done growing
-
Love the horns on him. Very unique. Would you mind sharing who did the taxidermy work?

i agree in the sending of hounds to exact revenge, but i do believe only natives can run hounds on the rez
-
It's impossible to get and expensive because every jack wagon buys as much of it as they can as soon as they see it, even if they already have 100k rounds of it

If the moon was a choice, i would probably take my chances hunting deer there instead

i think late 27 would require a lot more points for a guaranteed tag.

Someone needs to put this topic down. It's definitely a zombie. came back to life after almost 6 years of being dead

might have been, but i know a lot of other people that have had the same issues. i am also not a big fan of exposed turrets. when using an eberlestock backpack scabbard, they have a tendency to roll when you pull out your rifle and stuff it back in the case.

i have a flex fuel silverado with the 5.3 as well. my truck does not like it. Save a couple bucks or lose a few mpg? double edged sword for sure
-
that's a great piece of info. i run mostly stealth cams and have never had an issue with them, it sounds sounds like it's a good thing too. i have thought about trying out some Browning cams and it sounds like you just made them a couple sales

another person trying to do the "right" thing is gonna get lit up.....again.....kudos to the ALYUAZ though

Funny, I'm working on replacing all my vortex stuff. Sure they have a great warranty, but that is for good reason. It seems like all of my vortex optics are getting worked more than they aren't. I recently purchased a Burris Veracity 5-25X50. Has all the features you want in a long range scope and is about the same price as the Vortex PST. I am just getting tired of sending every Vortex item i own back for warranty work
