Is that a lot? I must need to get out of AZ. I’m looking at $100k+ an acre for where i want to build a house -
A few questions for the locals

You can buy tags any time and they are not unit specific. -
Trphyhntr is single....just sayin.

Stop it, you’re gonna make me blush. Just got bull #3 off the mountain. Un-bull-ievable year. I don’t do it often but i’ll have to write something up after my back, blisters and snowburn heal up.
-
They’re out and about today. Saw probably 30ish bulls this morning and my brother killed a real good one. Keep at it. It’ll happen. If you’re seeing cows and dinky bulls, look in other places.

Freezing rain and about 30-40mph wind in Alpine right now......

Glad to hear about such a positive interaction with G&F. Seems like those are getting to few and far between anymore. Congrats on the experience.

yeah, i am NOT looking forward to this elk hunt. we've got 4 unit 1 late bull tags this year. gonna be a cold one. the wind picked up to 40-50mph yesterday evening and is still going.

The marsupial case is the best.

Well, had a really tough hunt this year. Turns out I wasn't the only one that knew about my target bucks. After dealing with people shelling off artillery rounds at the bucks from over 1000 yards every morning i decided to back out of the area for a couple of days and let the pressure die down. I snuck back into my perch on Tuesday evening and was able to knock this buck down. He was about my "plan D" buck but I'm happy with him. I've always wanted a big two-point and i think this one qualifies. He's a really old troll of a deer and was the dominant buck in the area. A good one to get out of the gene pool. Sorry for the disgusting decapitation photos. He was a long ways from a road and didn't get to him until well after dark. The field photos were terrible.

I assume you are L.A. if i had use for this “plinking ammo” i’d buy it. Don’t worry about PRDATR. Another post, another bitter response for some reason. Thanks for the service and bump it up.

Let it snow. Been a while since we've had a cold, snowy late bull season.
-
I think his wife gifted him the tag and her name was on it is the reason they won’t let it in. Stupid
-
Why buy new when you can pay more used🤔
-
IMO better than the outdoorsman adapter.

Doing a boat trip

Thanks for the post. I’m booked for a blacktail hunt on Kodiak next November. This post really gets me excited. I’ll probably asking you a bunch of questions between now and then. Congrats, looks like quite the adventure
-
Nice job Ray. Glad to see your wife was able to put him down
-
Who mounted your sitka blacktail? That is a beauty. I’m hunting them next year
-
I know someone that did the same thing and got checked by g&f. Was not hassled at all. If the warden is a real d!ck they might TRY to do something but in the court of law, you’d be fine.
-
Just do it. No way you’d lose that battle. The animal you shoot needs to be in the unit you have the tag for. Nothing says the projectile needs to leave from the same unit.
-
Man, that’s a lotta turks on the wall. Here’s my favorite wall. Lots of other mounts but i like how this one turned out

i'm sure if you took it to a hardware store, you could find a screw that would match the threads and work fine. might have to trim it down to the correct length. That or call Harris. I'm sure you're not the only one that has ever happened to. looks like you can get one off brownells. https://www.brownells.com/shooting-accessories/bipods-monopods-amp-accessories/bipod-accessories/knob-bipod-speedy-knob-prod13191.aspx
