Sounds like you have your mind made up that your scope is bad….send it back. If you own that many and this is the first issue, that is a pretty good track record for scopes in that price range. You could own 100 vortex and will send back 97 of them. You do NOT need to lap modern, precision scope rings, it only hurts them. Lapping rings was something we did before modern manufacturing figured out how to make them more precise.

To the recently separated woman that started this thread, fc80 would not do you wrong and i’m 97.62% sure he could take your ex in hand-to-hand or firearm combat. If it came down to flinging arrows at eachother though, it’s probably even money.

I’ve switched to leupolds on all of my rifles and have not had many issues at all. Had one vx3i cds that lost zero but it was probably rings or rifle. Re-zeroed and no issues since. Could be the scope, the rifle or the trigger man. I personally trust mine more than any other scopes i’ve had.

Man, if this post was 6 months from now, i would be getting ahold of you. That is the exact breed i want for my next dog, just not quite ready yet.

I would add Ieupold vx5 3-15 to your list as well. I don’t shoot over 5-600 and they’ve been great for me. Even the vx3 cds have worked very well and they are extremely light.

Unethical does not equal illegal. Anyone that has hunted a lot and killed a lot has done something others would probably think was "unethical” but is also 100% legal. Rossi, i’ve been on this forum for a good 20 years and have seen a lot of members progress over the years and it’s fun for me to see. You were a very humble guy trying to learn how to become a good hunter and how to turn your son into a good hunter. Your family drew a pile of good tags in a short period and you PAID an outfitter to find you some good (not great) animals and i’ve witnessed the shift in your humility and honesty. You used to be a guy that asked for help and advice and turned into a guy that looks down his nose at someone who asks for help and advice. I am not perfect and have had beef with a lot of people on this forum but I have never and would never make an accusation of someone being a poacher without having a book of evidence to back it up. Keep paying for mediocre animals and keep throwing stones at people for making honest posts and trying to keep a dying forum alive. I will go out on a limb and guess that we’ve probably seen your last post. I would have been disappointed in that fact a few days ago but not now.

Well…..a dude that pays KGS to guide him hears a RUMOR about you poaching and one of the few people you came into contact with during the hunt was KGS. I’ll make the accusations for you. I dunno who needs to pay an outfitter all the time when you live 2 hours from the unit? I guess I’d probably kill bigger animals if I did. 🤷

Man, this is juicy. Trphy, you have every right to be pissed. Calling someone a poacher without any evidence is LOW. I remember talking to you about your hunt. I remember you teling me you missed a big one the first day and settled on the one you killed somewhere about mid-hunt. You are handling the situation better than i would. I would bet a lot of money that EVERY major outfitter in AZ has some serious skeletons in their closet. A major outfitter starting a poaching RUMOR about someone else is about the worst case of “the pot calling the kettle black” i’ve ever heard.

At 14bp’s you are likely to never hit max BP’s for rifle. Muzzy draw odds really aren’t any easier than rifle either. I’m at 25BP’s and I’m worried i might not hit max for another 10 years. I have killed 5 or so in other states so i am holding out for a special tag.

I’m tempted to buy it just to prank someone.

99% of the elk are on private. If you really want to do an OTC elk, the hunts in unit 2 are MUCH better.

G&F talks about killing feral hogs in AZ but they won’t say where they are. If they want them killed, tell us where they are and they’ll get killed. I’ll never understand why everyone is so secretive about them here.
