8 or 10's, 15's and spotter. There is honestly no substitute, other than 10's and big eyes maybe. 10's on my chest for quick looks and 15's come out as soon as i get to my glassing spot. Didn't start carrying a spotter until 2 seasons ago. Worth the weight, just to put my mind at ease that that "rock" i was looking at isn't actually a deer, or to make sure that that buck 2 miles away IS a shooter. Some people pack just 12's and a spotter to save weight/money though

I would be my bottom dollar they are a lot more than 5.5lbs. They are really cool rifles, but outside of the "cool factor" there are a lot of rifles being built now that are much lighter even with longer barrels and most likely more accurate.

Mt ord should fit the bill

I know the one i hunted with from about age 10-14 seemed like it weighed 20lbs. In all honestly, i bet they are around 7 lbs unscoped. There is a lot more metal in those older rifles.

Only thing he is lacking is mainbeams. Hard to tell but he looks pretty narrow too. Still a great bull. I would guess 320" give or take 5"

My VX3i certainly has more than one revolution? It just doesn't have zero stop and can be confusing once you get past one full revolution -
You could probably find some of those paper archery targets i would imagine. They are usually undersized but would probably be closest to what you're looking for

Muzzle brake and accuracy. Range with hunt w/o?
GreyGhost85 replied to apache12's topic in Long Range Shooting
I have shot a rifle with a removable brake and experimented a little bit. I shot 2 groups at 100 yards, one with and one without the brake. The POI was really close on each group. Although the rifle isn't incredibly accurate (right around MOA, 1" at 100 yards) i really couldn't tell much difference in the groups. I would definitely not trust it to behave the same way while shooting out there past 2-300 yards but if like if you said, you won't be shooting much past 100 yards, i think you would be fine -
I would not shoot anything bigger than a deer with them, they are rapid expanding. The 120 a-max is a great deer bullet. Seen a lot of deer get dumped with them. I imagine the 130 will do the same.

I couldn't get 143's to shoot out of my .264 win mag. 130 eld-m's shoot under 1/2 moa though. Shooting them about 3,200 fps. Should be a great deer round

Wtf am i reading? I wish this forum would go back to hunting topics. We're all men here. If a swear word here and there is that offensive, you should complain about it to your husband or preacher, not air it out here.

Well, that's a heII of a way to motivate buyers.

That was an April Fool's gag, woody. Saw it on another site

My girlfriend is in need of a new deer rifle and these seem like they will fit the bill perfectly. Checking to see if anyone has one the would part with before i buy new. I would like one that is threaded. Not really interested in anything else. Thanks in advance!

I thought i was the only one that listens to TFATK!

Joe Rogan is by far my favorite podcast. Jay and Gritty Bowmen are getting really redundant. Same guests, same topics. Joe Rogan does a good job of switching up guests and topics to keep things relevant

Josh Abbot is playin at Denim and Diamond's tonight. He's pretty good. I prefer the red dirt/texas country as well like a lot of you posting on here. I'll be there tonight

Looking for a good gunsmith!!!! For my 300 win mag
GreyGhost85 replied to Rock30golf's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Stock 700, $300 scope and factory copper ammo shooting 1/2" groups at 300? Hate to break it to you, but if your >$1000 setup shoots 1/2" groups at 300 yards, not only should you buy a lottery ticket, but if the wheels fall off AFTER 300 yards, there is a 99% chance the person behind the scope is the problem. Post up some groups if you don't mind so we can analyze them. Ps, you should have entered Lance's competition -
WTB Ruger American Predator 6.5 creedmoor
GreyGhost85 replied to GreyGhost85's topic in Classified Ads
That is probably what i'll end up shooting. Her current rifle beats her up really bad and she's developed a serious flinch. I will spin a brake on it and try the lighter bullets. I want absolutely as little recoil as possible -

I've got a pile of 6.5 bullets including those for my .264 winchester. I hear the are a great value -

I'm an eric church fan . His music is more "country" than 99% of the music out there. Definitely not autotuned, boyband, pop music like everyone is saying. Missed this show but i've seen him 3 times.

Wish they made a straight spotter. I would probably have to try one
-
That's a pretty rifle. I would guess in the ballpark of $500 give or take
