Tikka T3 270 WSM. Vortex Viper HS LR 4-16 X 50 with target MOA turret. if you can shoot this is a great medium to long range gun. Be a little over your budget but light accurate and reliable! Find a used scope and gun and save $$$.

I have a friend who hade one out of 1/8" aluminum sheeting but finding a piece wide enough was his problem. I think he went to industrial metal supply and found a piece of scrap. Cut it then took it to a metal shop to have the back 4" bent down at a 90 so he could mount led lights to light up the bed, also bent the front 5" at a 45 to mount a light bar. Then a trip to Home Depot for some rubber bushings, screws and screw caps, and put it all together. Turned out very nice with a cool custom look. Less than $150

I'm not a fan of spotters never really been able to get the "look with one eye method" down. 15's work fine for what I'm doing. I wouldn't be against to looking into the twin spotters or the GTX for long long range looks.................. If you want to stay around a grand get 12x50 Razors. You can always add a spotter if you think you need one.

You need to ask yourself some questions..........What are you using now? What's your price range? What type of country are you usually hunting?, long range glassing or close? What will you be glassing for? By the looks of your avatar you like to hunt Range Carp. Can't go wrong with 12X50's (Razors or Swaro's) for a universal optic, then carry a spotter when you are really trophy hunting. I just upgraded from Vortex 15's to Swaro 15 NEU, I plan to carry 10's (sometimes).

Not a fan of Country Thunder. I do like certain artist and will go to concerts from time to time. I'm good for about 1-2 concerts per year its usually good people watching!

I've snake broke a few heelers. Take a dead snake and throw it on the ground.......when the pup goes to sniff the snake.......scare the living crap out of the dog.........get after them as if they are doing something terrible......smack a stick on the ground right in front of them......they will learn that the smell and or noise of the rattle is a bad thing. Well, I finally drew an elk tag! Only put in for Unit 1 early rifle bull, had 2 points so I'm 100% positive I drew that tag! The only time I have been up there was trout fishing a few times. I don't really have time to do any scouting as I'm using most of my vacation going to Country Thunder and Probably a trip to Rocky Point. Planning on using my brothers 30-06. If there is anyone who knows this unit or where a newbie might go on opening morning please send me a PM!
