There was a wood stock Savage 30-06, on Back page for 325.00.

I plugged one with a 94 30-30 over 25 years ago, absorbed a few rounds of 125gr Sierras.

Here is the data from #10. Nothing for an 80gr with Re15, but data for a 75gr bullet.

Remington 700 .270 classic version from '82ish, unfired like new
10Turkeys replied to dpr64's topic in Classified Ads
Try it on Gunbroker. I had a bid on a 700 Classic started at 500.00, wasn't half as pretty as this one, the last hour it shot up to 651.00. -
The Kingdom, with Jamie Foxx. Filmed at the old Williams AFB.

I won a certificate for a free reamer from them a Couple years ago. I ordered a go/no go gauges to go with the reamer. Was so screwed up I cancelled the order, Three weeks after I did, I was charged for the gauges. Don't know how they keep their doors open. No problems with JGS.

I have shot these in a .260,6.5 CM,.270 Win, and the best group that I can get is between an inch and a half to two inches. Most are loaded 12-15 thousands off the lands. A bud of mine loaded some up in his Tikka 30-06 same deal. Anyone have any luck with these?

That's what I understand, that the salts in the blueing just can't be dumped in the sink or toilet.
-
Due to the EPA regs most places don't do blueing anymore. It's been years but I heard that VanHorn in Gilbert was still doing it. If not try the Blues Brothers in PV. 928-308-7732.

This is the last post I will make on this subject. First off Hoghntr says that I called him a blank, blank, bank, that is a lie I never cussed him, second I never threatened him with any harm. Third it was agreed that the gun might not be used for those two causes, but to be used for someone in need. He had my gun for over a year and a half. When I picked up my gun, which I will say this, it looked the same as when I gave it to him, he wanted to shake my hand, which I refused for the simple fact that I'm old fashioned, when I shake someone's hand it means something. Seems like I read something somewhere about telling a tree by its fruit.

hoghntr, I am assuming from the post that you and Casey have had, that he pretty much thinks you're an asshole, as do I. No need to stir anything up between us.

Years ago I was talking to an Army guy that was guarding the fence between East and West Germany, he said that the Commies had an explosive on their fence line that sensed motion, when ever someone tried to get to the other side they were usually blown to bits. Seems cheaper than an actual wall.

How many shots does a barrel burn out
10Turkeys replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
To completely shoot out a barrel would take a lot. I've gone through more than twenty and none of them were totally shot out, they just wouldn't group at the longer ranges that I shoot, 385 and 500 meters. Typically a 708 would get about 7000 rounds, a 308 would get about 8000, and a 260 or a 6.5x 47 lapua about 3500. A friend of mine who liked a 243 usually got about 1500. I'm told that more hunting rifles are damaged by improper cleaning than being shot out. Also I never rechambered a barrel, but the ones that I have talked to that did said that it was good for about another 800 rounds, for a hunting rifle that's a lot of life, but if your shooting some kind of competition it's not much if you were paying someone to do it for you. -
I know one thing for sure, that there isn't enough BBQ sauce, garlic or onion that is going to make them taste half way decent. My buddy has made sausage out of them the last few years. They aren't half bad mixed with enough pork and other spices.

Rechambering my Ruger MK II
10Turkeys replied to Barnesboy's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
What you have read on the above post are just about gospel. I had a Ruger 77 Mark ll, that wouldn't shoot, after having the action trued, and a Douglas barrell put on and bedded, I could have bought two Remingtons. On the upside I later put a Hart barrel on it and it was a tack driver. -
Sometimes happens, but it is rare. That primer looks like it should have went off. I've seen it happen where the firing pin spring is gummed with excess oil and it's just tapping the primer, or the firing pin head had been peened. Kleindorst makes a tool for Rem 700's to remove the firing pin from the bolt housing.
