Where do you store your tag before hunting season?
daryl_s replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in The Campfire
I know you can purchase a duplicate license but I don't think you can replace a lost tag. I believe if you lose your tag you're SOL. Nope. You can replace a tag for the $4 fee as well. We have done it more than once. Take a look at the lower leftside box on non-permit tags (where the dealer punches a hole depending on the type of tag). You'll see there is a $4 duplicate sale option. One year when my FIL needed one the folks at Sportsmans insisted that they were not allowed to do it. We walked over to Walmart and had it done and then had the Department call Sportsmans to set them right. That is good to know. Thanks. -

bigorange, why wouldn't you just purchase a duplicate tag for $4? or whatever they cost. I should know how much they cost, I've bought one or two. I know you can purchase a duplicate license but I don't think you can replace a lost tag. I believe if you lose your tag you're SOL. I myself put my tag in a dresser drawer unless it is a December tag, those go in the safe. I have done the last minute frantic tag search too many times. -
That's a steal for that rangefinder for that price.Should go quick. I have the same and am very happy with it.

Mass all day long.

I feel like I've gotten ripped off all summer. Every big storm so far has just skirted around my house. The storm that hit the Arcadia area really hard downed a traffic light a mile and a half from my house and it barely sprinkled on my yard. No monsoon at my house this year

This is one of the most entertaining videos I have seen in a long time.

Up for a game of Call Your Shot???
daryl_s replied to mattys281's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I put in with a money order but my 2nd choice was Oct 36C so I'm almost guaranteed a tag. I'm pretty sure that I drew my 1st choice, though. December 36C. I've got my sights set on a specific buck. Rarely does that ever work out though -
This is the very reason why I now put in with money a money order.
-
I used a money order for this very reason. Too much can go wrong with a card.

Royal palms! Holes 4 and 6. Haha, I know this spot all too well. I fished it a ton back in my teenage years in the 90's. My best friend's backyard was right by the green on #4. Right out the gate to fish and right back in when we saw the security heading our way. Anything you threw would produce a bass almost every cast.

Even though I've never met him I'll always remember him as Younghunter. Good luck Christian.

No pictures can do justice to just how cool this event is. My kids and wife loved it. We all had a great time and it was nice to see other forum members that I already new and meet some new ones. I want to say thank you to everyone involved in making this event happen. We can't wait to go back next year.

AZ Hiking Shack is having a parking lot sale. I stopped by and they had some really good deals on some very high quality boots like Lowa and Scarpa. If you're in the market for boots you might want to check it out.
-
And to answer the original question. Yes, I will take my kids down there when they are old enough to hunt, without hesitation.

I have hunted down in 36B and C now for the last 20 years or so, since I was 12. I have never had anyone mess with any of my stuff or take any of my food or water, and I always leave some in plain sight. I have seen illegals only 3 or 4 times, 1 dead body(the only time I ever hunted in 36A), 1 long since abandoned bundle of marijuana and plenty of evidence of them being there. That's it. That being said, I do not camp down there alone, I always go with a family member or friend, I always carry a sidearm and I am always very aware of what's going on around me. There definitely is a different feel than if you're a non-border unit like 24A. I really want to do a backpack hunt in the Baboquivaris but I'll admit I'm too uneasy(afraid) to go do it by myself. Anyone want to go with me???

Congrats!!!! Enjoy every second of it. Seems like only yesterday my daughter was born and she's already going on 10 and has 3 younger brothers.

I feel like this needs a bump to the top since it is only a week away.

Imagine if they don't stumble upon this one stolen handgun. This would probably still be going on undetected. Not to mention how many pawn shops there are in the valley. I wonder how many others operate that way.

Just to put into perspective how bad they are right now think about this one for a minute. If the Cubs lost their next 4 games they would have the same record that the Dbacks have right now! For the record, the Cubs are in last place in their division.
