    Huntin' For "Sticks"!

Congratulations on an accomplishment of a lifetime. That is so cool that you were able to achieve a lifelong goal like that. I really enjoyed the story and the pictures, I felt like I was there. I am still amazed at that buck.

    Locking your Car

I have heard the same about garage door openers. Anybody know anymore about that???? I always lock my house door inside my garage before I go anywhere. I realize that still leaves the inside of my garage vulnerable.

    Encores

My dad has the 300 win mag barrel that will be going on his elk hunt Thanksgiving weekend. He uses factory ammo for the 300. He also has a 22-250 barrel that he handloads for. I think he has gotten good results out of both. I'll ask him for details when I see him tomorrow.

    Noon Siesta or

I always stay out all day long. It is always too far from camp and takes too much effort to get where I am going to not stay all day long. A nap is always a must though. As hard as I try I can't not take a nap. I think it might have cost me a shot though about 2 years ago. I was dozing off and I heard something below me and as I looked up I saw the body of a deer, not the head, duck into the super thick stuff below me. It went to water at the only spot of the water hole that I couldn't see. I'm sure it had to have been a buck. I saw tons of deer hit that water that day and they were all does and they all went to the open side of the water hole. Just my luck . Had I not dozed off I would have seen that deer out in the open before he hit the thick stuff.

Best of luck to all of you that have the early hunts. Leave at least a few good bucks for those of us that have to wait.

    unit 36c

My suggestion is to get a good topo program, look it over, pick out 5 or 6 spots to check out, go down there and see which looks the best. There are a lot of access issues but the G & F website tells you all about that. The best place to start is the G&F website. The issue with UDA's isn't different than any other southern border unit. I have been out scouting twice down there and haven't seen a single uda. I suggest you don't go alone or at least carry a sidearm. It's a great unit with deer all over the place. Get out, glass and you'll find deer.

A change of pace for ALL CWT members

Not too long ago Outdoor Writer posted that he had an extra ticket to the Dbacks game for whoever wanted to go. I was the lucky one who ended up going and had a great time. Thanks again Tony, I hope you come back and keep posting. Also, Gamehauler did a great job fixing up our pop up trailer a few months ago and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anybody to him. Even though I only know about 4 people on this site in person I feel like in a way I know almost all of you. There are a ton of great people here. Hopefully I can make it to the next CW.com get together.

    3C Archery Bull

Great bull and even better story. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  20. I always enjoyed his posts. I hope he does come back and post again here.
  21. We will be camping in 36B and C in December. We somehow both got lucky and drew late tags for those two units. We will hunt together and split the time between the 2 units because it's not a good idea to be down there by yourself.

Very good to know. Thanks for the heads up. Everyone knows you can count on Swaro, but good to hear that about Remington also.

    What a Joke.......

I was in the grocery store the other day and noticed it in the magazine headlines while waiting in line. One read "Obama: My life with my girls" and some captioning about sitting in the front row at dance recitals. Another magazine headline read "Sarah Palin: Lies, deceit and scandal" or something to that effect. They are trying so hard to influence our views. The worst part about it is that it is so obvious. I am a union member(apprentice wireman)........and a registered republican. It seems like so many people need to be told what to think. The interesting thing to me is that even though about 95% of all union members are democrat I am not hearing too much about the people I work with liking Obama.
  25. Very cool!!! I will definitely stop by.
