Feds will no longer do background checks for firearms while the national emergency is in affect.

All roads to big lake are closed now. I wouldn't expect the drifts to be cleared until April sometime. The mountains will still get more snow storms.

The rest had big holes or were scrawny pups. Don't mess with the ones full of cockleburs either .

In 40+ years of trapping and hunting coyotes I have learned that you can not cover your sent with anything and still move and breathe. If a coyote is down wind from you, he knows what you had for breakfast and what brand of sent cover you are using. It is vital to have the wind in your face or a crosswind . Not always easy a thing to do if you want to sit in the shade with the sun to your back. If you hunt with a buddy, set him up as a sniper to watch downwind 100 to 150 yards. 20% of the time a coyote will come in downwind pick up your sent and be gone and you will never know it was there. You learn a lot by reading tracks in the snow. Good luck

It has been my observation than the more degrees involved, the less common sense is demonstrated.

Good grief----A tip to the flatlanders, use the snow to your advantage. Good storm like this, the elks will migrate to winter quarters. Just park your nice warm vehicle on the migration route and let them come to you. Unit 27 Middle Mt. to Blue River route. Unit 1 Milligan Valley route & South fork route to name a few.

Sorry the photo is so fuzzy. It was to early in the morning, very little light. Just woundering if she made it another year.

I carry a 12 gauge shotgun and a 223 when calling coyotes. Use the shotgun 80 % of the time. Don't shoot the front shoulders with the 223 and the fur is all good.

If CWD is brought into the state, not only will the taxidermist's loose money, the wildlife will suffer and hunters will have far less tags to draw.

The story about Fred Hamblin , my Great Grandfather is not totally true, He never fully recovered from his wounds, he was crippled for the rest of his life.

Yep! People have no one to blame but there selves.

Gobbling isn't all they are doing. They don't plow open FS roads in unit 27, just the state highways.

Turks are still down out of the snow, no need to drive the high country roads

photofool replied to photofool's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
About what I was hoping for ,an average of $50 each . The sale wasn't that great. A lot of the cats & coyotes the buyers wouldn't take. they were just buying the best. A lot of disappointed folks there. -
