    Game Cameras- G&F Agenda

My memory is coming back a bit. The lawyer you're thinking about was Gil Shaw. He actually introduced the failed initiative to ban the traps in 1992, but he wasn't the guy in the dog incident, which happened years earlier. See my last post for that.

  3. GAME AND FISH NEWS Jan. 20, 2021 AZGFD accepting applications for 2021 pronghorn, elk hunts Deadline is 11:59 p.m. (Arizona time) Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 PHOENIX — The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) is accepting applications for 2021 hunt permit-tags issued through the draw process for pronghorn and elk. To apply, visit www.azgfd.gov and click on “Apply for a Draw.” For an overview of the application service, including license requirements, applying for bonus points and payment information, see Page 8 of the “2021 Pronghorn and Elk Hunt Draw Information” booklet. Printed booklets soon will be available at all license dealers statewide. The deadline for the department to receive all applications is 11:59 p.m. (Arizona time) Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021. All applicants are encouraged to purchase PointGuard, which allows hunters to surrender their hunt permit-tag(s) for any reason without losing their bonus points. An applicant does not need an AZGFD portal account to apply for the draw or to purchase PointGuard. Information: www.azgfd.gov/pointguard. NOTE: As a result of the high volume of draw applications received by the department, the ability for customers to view data in their personal portal accounts — such as bonus points, license purchases and submitted applications — may be slightly delayed. AZGFD is aware of this inconvenience and is working toward a solution. The continued support and patience of all customers is appreciated at this time.

    Game Cameras- G&F Agenda

I wrote my LAST SHOT column in AZ HUNTER & ANGLER about the incident when it happened. That PC is down right now, however. Anyway, his name was Larry Sunderland, but I don't recall if he was a lawyer or not. I think it happened near Flagstaff on NF land.

Unless something has changed, they must be frozen solid to avoid the tick deal and be accompanied by the proper paperwork.

    Jack's Reloading Supply

After googling the site, I've just read multiple threads like this in many web forums, but so far this is the only one that appears to have a CONFIRMED scam noted. All the rest are mostly the "is this a legit" seller, site, etc.

Maybe 300-10. Looks like one in the trees that might be bigger, though.

Glad to help. I was simply intepreting the rule as I understand it. Do call to get it from the horse's mouth, so to speak. As to the BPs, you didn't mention how many you had, so I didn't know if it would be an issue or not.

In a letter to his daughter, Sarah, Ben Franklin panned the bald eagle and praised the turkey. He wrote: “For my own part I wish the bald eagle had not been chosen as the representative of our country.” He said that the eagle was “a bird of bad moral character” that “does not get his living honestly” because it steals food from the fishing hawk and is “too lazy to fish for himself.” In contrast, Franklin called the turkey “a much more respectable bird” and “a true original native of America.” While he considered the eagle “a rank coward,” Franklin believed the turkey to be “a bird of courage” that “would not hesitate to attack a grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his farm yard with a red coat on.”

This section below in red is likely to apply. R12-4-104 I. All members of a group shall apply for the same hunt numbers and in the same order of preference. 1. No more than four persons may apply as a group. 2. The Department shall not issue a hunt permit-tag to any group member unless sufficient hunt permit-tags are available for all group members.

Careful. His partner without the LT license still is subject to the 10% cap. Now, I'm going to GUESS here: IF the 10% cap has already been filled if & when their permit # comes up, the entire app will be rejected. Why? I don't believe they would issue a permit to one applicant & not the other. Sooo...the best bet is to make a call to AGFD and find out for sure. P.S. : I assume the OP also knows that any BPs he has will be halved with his partner.

Montana Sheep Tag goes for $440,000

That it did, but it wouldn't have if the $480K bid made at the in 2013 at the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep (FNAWS) annual auction had been officially paid. The story at the time was that a guy who was sitting with his girlfriend made the bid, and he didn't know the auction was being broadcast live over the Internet. Supposely his wife, who was watching at home, saw him and wasn't real happy. As a result he reneged on his bid, leaving FNAWS in a quandary. The Montana game department worked out a deal with the 2nd highest bidder, but they never publicized how much was paid.

  24. National Rifle Association says it has filed for bankruptcy as part of restructuring (Reuters) - The National Rifle Association on Friday filed petitions with a U.S. bankruptcy court seeking protection from creditors by restructuring, the gun rights advocacy group announced. The NRA filed the Chapter 11 petitions in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Dallas, it said in a news release. The NRA said it would restructure as a Texas nonprofit to exit what it said was a “a corrupt political and regulatory environment in New York” state, where it is currently registered. The influential group said in a statement there would be no immediate changes to its operations or workforce, and that it “will continue with the forward advancement of the enterprise – confronting anti-Second Amendment activities, promoting firearm safety and training, and advancing public programs across the United States.” The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to keep and bear arms. Last August, New York state Attorney General Letitia James sued to dissolve the NRA, alleging senior leaders of the nonprofit group diverted millions of dollars for personal use and to buy the silence and loyalty of former employees. The lawsuit filed by James in a state court in Manhattan alleges NRA leaders paid for family trips to the Bahamas, private jets and expensive meals that contributed to a $64 million reduction in the NRA’s balance sheet in three years, turning a surplus into a deficit. The NRA responded by suing James, a Democrat, in federal court, saying she had violated the NRA’s right to free speech and seeking to block her investigation. The litigation remains pending. The NRA in recent decades has been one of the leading voices opposing proposed or existing gun control measures. The NRA’s actions will likely put the attorney general’s lawsuit on hold, and a reincorporation could strip her of the ability to seek the group’s dissolution. In her lawsuit, James had said the NRA’s incorporation as a nonprofit in New York gave her authority to dissolve it.
