In our neck of the woods they are right on the snow line. The 19th can't come fast enough!

I am curious to see how these storms change things. We have been watching an area loaded with birds for 3 weeks. I hope they don't move far.

Awesome packs! Camofire is probably your best option.

I don't know how big of a job he will do but he can probably give you some people to contact. He is a stand up guy . We used W5 out of Phoenix and they were terrible!

My neighbors bought one during the covid nonsense. They went crazy and did an entire cow, chicken, more eggs than you could count, and every candy you can imagine. Seems like there is a trick to doing meat but they have it down pretty good. They have more food stored than I think they will ever use.

I can't wait for the youth hunt!

This is what I went with. My nephew also got one and he is only 7yo and shoots it fine. Both guns work very good.

Just a thought. I had a .410 for my son. Ammo was hard to find and almost $30 a box. For Christmas I bought him a 20ga semi auto for $275. He says it kicks way less and ammo is $9 a box with tons of options.

Happy Jack towing helped me out for free a few years ago. I don't have the number but google should.

Hard to beat a hard charging triple when you have a 12ga in your hands!

No they ask for money. I asked for a letter last year so I could use a work volunteer day and haul water with my truck and trailer. They said they would rather I donate money. Way better off to donate to Wildlife Waterworks Dan does great work and all the money is used for wildlife.

Yes buckshot is still "shot" and legal. I use 3-1/2 4 buck on fall hunts.

I used a short action bell and Carlson stock. I had to use some epoxy but I don't remember it being to hard.

With a little work you can make a short action m7 stock work. I did that for my wife's gun

I didn't count but I bet I was north of 30 for the summer. Only one we killed was 6'1 without the head

Congrats! I had this tag in 2013 I think. At the time I lived in Cordes Jct and I was able to scout every weekend except 3 between the draw and the hunt. It was a fun hunt but the top 3 bucks I had picked out were all dead by 9am opening morning. I saw 3 bucks killed opening morning by a family that had 4 tags in camp. All 3 were hardly above their ears. I was glad when they cut the tags and hopefully the herd has recovered since then. I ended up with a mid 70's buck the 2nd day that I had watched in the junipers all summer. Don't overlook some of the thicker areas. I found them in places you wouldn't think they would be. This year that was my 2nd choice hunt just because of the low tag numbers. Have fun!

I know all those trucks aren't because of this thread but... Several years back I asked for tips for the youth doe hunt in 12aw from some guys that had been up there on the early hunt. One of them posted an exact spot where they were glassing from and seeing deer everyday. On the way to the spot I saw some papers in the middle of the road so I stopped and picked them up. It was a print out of the thread where I had asked about where to hunt. Long story short we met 2 other groups that were hunting that spot because of what was posted. I think guides posting all the pics online is probably the most to blame.

I have it listed for 2k with everything but I’m negotiable if it helps get a kid out hunting. Has less than 100 rounds down the barrel.
Thanks. Really wanted a .308 but this is very tempting

My son has his first elk tag this year and I need to get him a rifle. He shot a sig last week and liked it. I would prefer a .308 and camo but would consider other options. If anyone has one they want to sell let me know.
