Just a thought for you!...''azgutpile'' is spot on! anyone can get the info, from the wild life manager in that unit!...dont be affraid to contact rancher's an hunters from the past!...and yes thank god for Google Earth!! even a couple of days of scouting is worth gold!!....cover alot of ground get a forest map!!.. invest in a big topo map!! an ask a game&fish officer to go on a ride along! most officer well do that for you!.....its not really hard to put a hunt together with what little time you have and it well be worth more as a hunter to do a DIY! the memorys the ups the downs makes it that much better!...test yourself !! DYI is where its at!! good luck !! ""GET 'ER DONE""..there is alot of Die hard hunters on the site that dont mind dropping you alittle 411 now an then!!

first ram looks 155+ ish! the second looks to be around 165+ ish give or take couple inches eather way hard to tell with one picture pose!! nice pictures! they are reagle animals for sure!......

Hey if you want to learn about sheep go to Jay Scott outdoors/Culburn&Scott Outtfitters!......if you fallow his blogs and watch all there videos on youtube you will learn all you want to know about sheep in arizona!...any unit out there has good rams but a once in a lifetime hunt shoot for a 150 class or better!!! you need 168 min, for boone&crockett!....good luck! two of the hunter's last year in my unit had only one bonus point!...you never know!

Yup!! it's over!! with no hits to my CC! well the money i was going to spend on my tags!...instead i'll buy me that air rifle i've been wanting to rid me of those @#$% birds dumping all over my truck an jeep!! it aint big game hunting but it will help for now! ..... ummm maybe i can get drawn for "'Squirrel"! next time around!! ....i shouldn't complain tho, i've been blessed! .....it birdy time!!! congrats to all you who drew tags!!

1-well if you really want a Dec, tag or (to get drawn) your chances of getting drawn are not that great! becuse most people (hunters) want that rut hunt! unless you go after the second to last hunt that ends around Dec. 5th! 2-out here in the desert we really dont look for sign like people back east do!...we sit behind a pair of Bino's with 10x power or better and glass!..glass!!! and more glassing!!...just when you feel like you got blood running out of your bloodshot eye's you glass some more! really! oh yeah a tri-pod is a must to mount your bino's on!..thats how you find those little bugers!! 3-even in winter you have to get them dressed out ASAP! becuse they will spoil quick and get the hide off not to long after feild dressing them as well they are a small deer but the heat will go bad an you dont want that!!! they are good eating! 4-i have not had any luck at callin deer in but some people have!!........GLASSING! GLASSING! GLASSING! 5-i guess there are books out there that can help you on your deer hunt! i dont remember the name of the book! i think Dawyne Adems put one out!!...in the book he will tell you "GLASSING is where its at"! 6-a 270. is fine cal, just learn to shoot it out to 300 yards you'll do fine!! 7-yes cutting up the deer is ok to get it out !! just get it cool ASAP! As you are headin in the town of SONOITA before you get there there is a road called Santa Rita road on the 34a side take it all the way back past the look out tower an fallow the road until it drops off in to gardner canyon!! the little canyons that branch to the south have alway held pigs!! good luck an happy hunting!! hope this helps!! to the south i think the canyon is called Hog Canyon!!

Well after all the time being on the phone! studying maps!....on the phone with Game & Fish !! who by the way was the most helpful!!...Kudos to the wild life mangers in the Game & Fish dept, for giving all the information i needed to harvest my "TROPHY OF A LIFE TIME"!..on my self guided hunt! all the work payed off!!!....It was more then i could have ever hope for! With my family and closest freinds who help me on my quest!! and to the people who offered info, or suggestions!!! THANK YOU ALL!!! (note) : my buddy who packed out my ram off the mountain was with me from the start!!! an to the end!!! he packed all the way off the mountain with out resting!! thank you my brother!! and my wife was with me all the way!!! i had fun pulling all the cactus out of her in places where we wont discuss!!...king of like "checking for ticks"! lol! an the other to bottom pictures of my ram when he was alive i got from the sheep survey from game & Fish!!

Just want to give a shout out to a guy i just met last Saterday who i went with hunting with! 20 mins, into hunt it was over with an awsome nice AZ Desert muledeer buck!! ATTA BOY!!! August is too dang hot!! Well the Game & Fish unofficaly scored him at 162 5/8's i dont think they are off at all really!! i just have wate for my taxidermist to get back to town to see what he is!! im happy with that score!!
