Unfortunately I think the data has shown it’s quite a bit more than a “few” people abusing the privilege.

Looks like cards should be charged by the morning of the 17th.

For now. The same thing happened on the trail camera ban. It just took a little longer but in the end trail cameras were banned.

How about the one horned bighorn sheep hunts for Pioneers
-
There’s always handgun and muzzleloader

It means the department is asking the commission to put on hold the crossbow permit change until they can further evaluate. My guess is the commission will do just that.

I missed his presentation but from what someone else said he had a very well prepared presentation that debunked CBD’s concerns -

Wasn’t there but watched what I could, basically they let CBD spokesman talk and then AZGFD biologist gave his presentation. Next hours of blue card speakers for and against and then 3 seconds for the commission to deny both petitions. -

Looks like the commission just unanimously voted to deny the 2 petitions by the CBD, we’ll see where the CBD goes from here. -

Yes, that’s how leg hold traps were banned on public lands. I believe it was Prop 200 -

This is just the first step. The big battle will be when this becomes a proposition on the ballot. -
Unit 1 archery was basically a 6 day hunt, Friday to Wednesday and then closed. It went to a draw for a reason and should have never gone back to OTC. At least AZGFD was smart enough to now put it back to a draw. As for bear it is set up exactly like the deer. It doesn’t matter if the sow quota was 1 for a unit if 15 sows were killed opening day it still wouldn’t close until sundown on the following Wednesday.

They rotate the units, will be a different unit next year
