Sittin on 24 bps, seems like a never ending bad dream,32 years worth. The article in Eastmans was an eye opener. That being said I have applied many times for less then optimal units . neighbor drew with 4 bps and friend drew with none. Its gonna happen soon I hope.

There is a pond near the airport, steep banks and chain linked all around, years ago it had a giant opening, monster bass and tilapia.Dont think its accessible anymore, its still there.

We used to hit the GC lakes along hayden road in scottsdale and killed it. The smaller ponds were always the best. Panther martins and Mepps spinners. would love to try the ponds on the golf course at union hills and the 101. Years ago where the Diamondbacks new fields are off the 101 used to be a golf course. It was closed for a couple of years prior to being bulldozed..the grass was three feet tall and there were a number of tiny neglected ponds. We would hammer them with spinners.( ps...you gotta do it in the dark)

Way to go, Beautiful Ram! -
Finally got around to posting my sons first elk. What a hunt!( Proud Dad ), great memories and friends and a ton of great elk meat. Bray got his elk opening day after sitting for a couple of hours in 26 degee weather. The elk werent moving as usual , so we chased a bugling herd that was holed up in a pocket canyon in 5A. as we were moving in a coyote walked along side of us for a few hundred yards about 50 yards away. we then jumped a couple of cows that moved off into some thick stuff, we skirted around them towards the bugling and as we made our way down into the canyon we jumped a spike and 2 cows. they winded us and all heck broke loose.at least 40 or so ran by us before this cow stopped and offered a shot. Bray dropped her with one shot. elk continued to file by including some whopper bulls and a flock of turkey toms(where were they the weekend before). Im gonna say at least 80 or so elk. My friend Phil and his son were along to help out.was great having a cabin to sleep in and a great place to cut up all the meat. Spent the rest of the weekend squirrel hunting. We cooked up a bunch and the tenderloins from the elk.A feast fit for kings! the first pics were where she dropped, the latter was after a drag down the slope for better positioning. PS, love the lead free bullets, they rock.
