Awesome! Someone did a great job.

Someone stole my American flag from my front yard. My flag flies 24/7, 365 days a year. They even stole the spotlight that illuminates my flag during the evening. Society has lost all respect for personal property.

I was under the assumption that these Hopi hunts are for the Hopi lands only. How can you get a Hopi tag and than go hunt another part of the unit off the Hopi? I think they call it the east and west sunset hunt. I can't find anything in the regs stating the boundary of the hunt. DavidIt depends which leftover tag you get. If you get the LO antlerless 5B North hunt, Oct 16-22, then you're limited to those boundaries. Grapevine, Twin Arrows, Diablo...etc If you get the 4A archery bull Nov 6-19, then you're good to go for the entire unit. If you get the 4A North LO Dec 11-31 anterless, then you're limited to the 4A North boundary. Etc, etc...... Match the hunts to the regs, and read the notes and boundaries. It has nothing to do with hunting Hopi lands only.

Since this was my last batch of quail from this season, decided to smoke them using hickory. Low temperature smoke for approximately 1.5-2 hours, then rest for 15 minutes. I keep my recipes simple. Coat with a little olive oil, some salt, pepper and garlic. I was not disappointed. Incredible!

Nope. Very moist. Trick is to pull it while it's still medium rare, cover and then let it rest.

Congrats to everyone that got a charge. It now appears I'm going to miss out again this year. Have several friends that drew a tag, so I'll be out in the elk woods one way or the other.

If it is like past years, I'm guessing about 90% - 95% of the charges have happened. There will be a few more next week, but it is mostly done. I'm not sure about that. Last year, once they started, hits were happening throughout the day and into the evening hours. My buddy's card got hit at almost 9pm last year. When I got hit for antelope several years ago, it was day two at 730pm. So far this go around, there was a burst of charges in the morning, then it seemed to have slowed, then ended early afternoon. Just seems different. I'm assuming Monday will bring more hits. Or, I'm in denial and trying to convince myself otherwise to ease the pain!
